I think a very significant part of the headless chickening on what is the world’s most straightforward question (“CSAM factory- is it allowed?”) has been the crippling cognitive dissonance of journalists justifying their continued use of X to themselves.

They needed it to be a Q for debate.

Well-to-do motorists have a agency and choice. When the deputy bought the Audi Q5, he might well have seen the marketing literature describing it as "sporty". (The PHEV version weighs 2t and will do 250km/h.) A €500 fine hardly cuts it. The car should be seized.

He did say Apple & Google should remove it from app stores.

He also said the Govt wouldn’t give “kneejerk” response by immediately coming off X, saying other platforms have issues too.

I interjected to say those other platforms don’t generate CSAM.

He accepts that but said other issues exist.
