Maine has a bill from Rep @amyroeder.bsky.social to do just this. One more reason for lawmakers to (finally) pass it when they get back in January #mepolitics
When states like Colorado passed policies requiring employers to disclose salary information in job postings, what happened?

It increased competition, and raised wages, without harming employment or changing skill requirements.

Improved functioning of markets, helped workers.

The wealth gap continues to grow substantially in this country. That's why, among other measures, I support the Tax Excessive CEO Pay Act.

CEOs don't work 300, 400, or 500 times harder than their average worker. Why should they be compensated as if they do? Pay workers their fair share.

I have seen a lot of discussion around Burnt Jacket Mountain today. My understanding is that the land was sold for $8.1 million. Not exactly a sum an average Mainer could afford.

Incredible access to nature is part of the culture and soul of Maine. We need to preserve our lands and tax the rich.

#MEpolitics: This thread from May about the dire state of the Maine healthcare system has unfortunately only become more relevant as the months have passed.

The Trump regime’s elimination of ACA subsidies—coupled with the coming massive cuts to Medicaid and Medicare— will make things much worse.
🧵 WIDE ANGLE: A recent analysis of the financial health of Maine’s largest healthcare providers by the Maine Hospital Association indicates a dire situation: very low operating margins, old facilities in need of repair and replacement, rising costs, and the worst financing ratios in the nation. +

Enjoyed the chance to speak at the Blue Wave Gala last night. I also heard from more Mainers about their top concerns. We still have a long way to go before the primary, and I’m excited to meet even more Mainers. Town halls are on the horizon, just a bit more planning to do first.

Even before this uncertainty around SNAP, Maine has struggled with food insecurity. As someone with a small following, I can't quite match the extent of some of the other ongoing efforts but want to help where I can. So, I will personally match $3500 worth of donations to Good Shepherd. To take(1/2)

Tonight is the Blue Wave Gala in Portland! If you are attending, then hopefully we get a chance to chat!

Each senate candidate will get six minutes for a speech during the senate portion and there is time to socialize. Some really good speakers lined up for the dinner as well!

This is odd, it looks like the DOJ skipped suing Texas entirely. The Justice Department is now suing California over the new congressional district boundaries that voters approved just last week, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Thursday in a post on X. Who are they going to sue, the voters?

Starbucks Workers United, as of 3 hours ago, is officially ON STRIKE. They want to tell supporters nationwide: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS at any location, today and beyond, while workers are on ULP strike.
As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

Justice delayed is justice denied. We know of at least three Epstein victims who have died without seeing justice delivered:

Virginia Giuffre
Carolyn Andriano
Leigh Skye Patrick

Other victims are still living in this nightmare. Stop delaying. Stop denying. Release the Epstein files.

With Jordan Wood changing to the house race in CD2 of Maine, we are down to seven candidates in the primary seeking a nominee against Susan Collins:

Janet Mills
Graham Platner
David Costello
David Evans
Andrea LaFlamme
Natasha Alcala
and me, Tucker Favreau

There are options and time. #mepolitics

Comprehensive change in politics requires short and long term planning. While we focus on replacing Susan Collins this cycle, the shutdown fiasco shows that we also need a longer term plan to replace Angus King with a strong M4A candidate. Start thinking about who that might be now.

Veterans Day honors both past and present servicemembers. Many veterans downplay their service as no big deal, but our country depends on people from every walk of life signing up and potentially making the ultimate sacrifice in defense of this nation. And that is worthy of gratitude. (1/3)

The "controlled opposition" moniker isn't going away with "deals" like this.

Many federal employees feel utterly betrayed by the party. They were willing to sacrifice for the greater good. But now that sacrifice has seemingly been tossed away. People deserve better.

A promise of a vote is worth absolutely nothing with this administration. A retreat here without actual progress on healthcare subsidies is a betrayal of the people who have actually been enduring the shutdown so far. Democrats need an actual backbone.

Is this supposed to be what winning looks like? Maybe those of us raised in Maine have different standards, but this seems like a clear loss for the American people if you ask me. We desperately need Congress to grow a conscience and start helping the people they represent.

Further proof that cruelty is the point with this administration. This change helps no one and only serves to hurt an already vulnerable community.

Last night was an incredible victory for Mainers. It was further proof that they show up and fight for what they believe in. And they deserve politicians who do the same.

Midterms are next. And Susan Collins' reign on Maine politics is about to be over. Pick your fighter and vote.

Also a huge congratulations to Mamdani on his win. People are clearly fed up with establishment politics that continues to undermine the power and well-being of the People.

It is time for a massive shift in politics. A shift that re-focuses firmly on supporting everyday people and not the elite.

The numbers coming in for Maine are looking incredible. Maine has always had secure elections and Mainers saw Question 1 for what it was: an attempt at voter suppression.

Thank you to each and every volunteer and organizer who worked to protect absentee voting. Every victory matters!
