I can’t understand the logic in selling off places like O’Devaney Gardens and delaying development at St Micheál’s until costs absolutely moon rocketed and now, looking to level spaces like the Digital Hub and here for social housing. It’s like a child playing Sim City. Willy nilly madness.
In justifying its plan to abandon its Wood Quay HQ, Dublin City Council refuses to show its homework. It's generally more environmentally friendly to renovate existing buildings than to abandon them to the wrecking ball, but other public organisations could follow suit.

The funny thing about a certain type of angry conspiracy guy is that they’re literally being confronted with an elite paedophile ring and a tyrannical government at the same time right now, and because it isn't being done by the people they wanted it to be done by they’re all being pussies about it

Great to see some new visualisations of what we could have in Cork city, so much potential wasted, particularly love ones with restored brickwork
Its also great to see more people speaking up, & encouraging others to speak up too

Listening to that line parroted out across the media - everyday during a genocide live-streamed to the world - will stand as a text book example of dehumanisation and othering.

Great to see a space like this open up on the left.

At the launch I played Tribute to Peadar O’Donnell. He founded The Bell with O’Faoláin back in 1940.

An Cloghan means “the little bell.” A great title. It rings the alarm, signals people to gather and hopefully, calls time on the old order.

The brewing movement towards a general strike in the US is fascinating to watch. There’s been a call for a Mayday 2028 one from the UAW for a while, with a whole movement emerging around it - but events in Minneapolis have fast forwarded things no end.

notice how after ilhan omar was attacked by a maga true believer parroting donald trump, the mainstream media didnt kick off a multi-day orgy about how trump and other republicans need to change their tone and "lower the temperature"?

that discourse only goes one way for the msm.

A few months ago everyone was guffawing about excessive weather warnings. It’s fairly pathetic for a minister to blame water forecasters for their own government’s own goals and inaction on climate change.

I’m all for innovation. My foodie prediction for 2026 is carvery dinners in a pint glass. Perfect for eating during standing room only matches down the pub - or as your one proper meal during a three day bender at the Electric Picnic.

Works for Jerk chicken too.

I’m going to need convincing on this new logo. The last one missed the burning aspect of the Three Castles entirely. This one misses the Three Castles altogether. It feels incredibly “for the sake of it,” rather than grounded in any need. The roll out cost must be sickening.

“Whist! Leave it! You’ll unyoke it!”
Nothing highlights the extent to which the Irish economy is a house of cards quite like the adults in the room constantly defending "don't fucking move or it'll fall down" as a valid approach to running a country #Spéirgorm
The more obvious it is he shouldn't go, the more condescending the insistence that he must.

Also, if the "cautious" option is meeting with a fascist leader who stands by while citizens are executed on the street, what does that say about your politics?

ICYMI: I looked through a published archive of Boston newspapers from the 1760s, when British troops were stationed in the city.

The accounts read remarkably similar to what's happening in Minneapolis.

If they’re serious about this, I look forward to legislation limiting car paint jobs to the sort of fluro-yellow you see wheat-pasted around cities like Sheffield, advertising bassline raves with 76 DJs on the bill. All these grey and black cars are the same colour as the tarmac. Silly!
A fundamental question in the "hi-viz debate" I never see asked is —

If a motorist has difficulty seeing someone or something on the road ahead then should they not seek medical attention, or surrender their license?

No motorist should assume what's ahead of them will be painted yellow.
