every part of quote conservatism unquote was a complete joke because rich people wanted lower taxes. liberty, second amendment, individual rights, fears of a strong central government, okay big guy.

they just wanted lower taxes and to overturn the civil rights act. two things. that’s it.

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;

He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;

He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword:

His truth is marching on.

Alex from our time working together, while he was in nursing school. Later, he moved to ICU, working as a nurse to support critically ill Veterans. He had such a great attitude. We’d chat between patients about trying to get in a mountain bike ride together. Will never happen now

Do you honestly think people in the civil rights movement and other nonviolent movements faced no violence themselves? They practiced nonviolence because it works, because the oppressor wants a shooting war, which is the war it will win
How's your non-violent working Mr Gandhi stancil? They will kill each and everyone of you right if they had the chance and you will still be writing Kumbaya.
Observers have been working day and night to protect these neighborhoods from ICE, make the streets safe so kids can go to school and people can go to their jobs. Burning down the street undoes all our work. The people setting fires haven’t been putting in long hours watching plates or doors.

The White House posted a digitally altered image showing a demonstrator involved in interrupting a church service in Minnesota last weekend crying as she was arrested on Thursday.

A previous version of the image, also posted by an official government account, showed her looking forward calmly.
White House Posts Altered Photo Showing Arrested Minnesota Protester Crying
The New York Times ran the image posted by Kristi Noem, the homeland security secretary, as well as the one posted by the White House through an A.I. detection system. It concluded that the White House’s version showed signs of manipulation.

Who surrenders? who was the first to fold?
The billionaires, the institutions, the powerful

Who was the first to organize? the marginalized, the queer, the sex workers, the single moms, the old punks, the three sisters

Do you want to be awakened from your slumber when It Happens? Or do you want to find out when you awake naturally and unlock your phone? Let your loved ones know.

When it comes to AF1 turning around with the president on board, the simplest answer is probably still the most likely: His ankles swelled up so much they caused a dangerous cabin pressure issue and when the oxygen mask descended he misunderstood and stuffed it down his pants and his butt exploded ☹️

there's a whole lot of people in the replies here willfully refusing to understand that a) not a single Democrat voted for the bill which is funding ICE right now and b) it didn't matter because Republicans control the government and thus enacted their reconciliation bill on a pure party-line vote.
ICE must be reined in, and unfortunately, neither a CR nor a shutdown would do anything to restrain it, because, thanks to Republicans, ICE is now sitting on a massive slush fund it can tap whether or not we pass a funding bill.

My full statement on the DHS funding bill.

Yep.

The people just blaming Congress when it is very specifically one party in Congress doing literally ALL the bad things, are just saying they’re cowards.

If you’re too cowardly to call out Republicans and hold them to account, you’re no one’s ally but theirs.

I see some people interpreting this as a metaphor for the state of America, but in that case about 45 percent of the passengers would be insisting that they actually wanted the bus to go to Vienna as long as it ran over some immigrants on the way.
I just woke up from a nap and somehow while I was asleep, everyone on the bus has figured out we are not going to the right place

Sunday, at least 7 ICE agents stormed a house and took an elderly man out into the freezing cold, wearing only his underwear and a blanket.

He was a member of the Hmong community, which came to the area from Laos in the 1970s after siding with the US in the Vietnam War.

I'm sorry but to me that suggests that you [who are not enslaved in 2026] can also imagine an end to the current horrors.
