I really don't know clouds at all.

As seen in (a very brief quote in) The New Yorker.

She/her. Sapphic bi. Trans rights are human rights, black lives matter, the first Pride was a riot. Enjoy the cornfield.

"I don't handle rejection well" is a statement that may be true about me but it overlooks the laundry list of other things I don't handle well.

It is very funny that Ken Starr shows up in these and Bill Clinton doesn’t
"This could take down Democrats, too."

I know. And I frankly wouldn't give even an itty bitty damn if it implicated every Democratic man in Congress, every Democratic hopeful for 2028 and every Democrat who has even thought about running for office.

Down with the sex predators, wherever they are.

If anyone reading this really feels super strongly about this, I guess start calling lol
Also isn’t this just a vote to get it to a proper passing vote later in the week? That’s about 5 days of the defectors being screamed at by everyone under the Sun. Doubt it’ll go well for them

There were eight votes here. King isnt a Democrat, Fetterman is Fetterman. Add four “small tight states with razor thin margins” Senators who don’t need a leadership push on this, and you’re left with Kaine and Durbin. IMO the only coordination here was Durbin covering for Warner.
The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

If you want to critique these things there's literally a case in the news right now about a chatbot model convincing someone to kill himself. There are real things to be upset about! You don't need to make up pretend ones that aren't real!
I really don’t find these arguments persuasive. Take this, for example, from one of the sources: this is another way of saying ‘as much water as it takes for the beef that two people consume annually’. That’s a relatively trivial amount!

ALSO as a member of AuDHD feral wolf childhood: YES, people skills are LEARNED. YES YOU CAN (and yes it's hard but also: having the ability to make small talk and be openly nice to people is a vital skill whether you realize it or not).

You start bad at it but you can get better with practice.
and before you tap out some kind of furious response i was effectively a feral wolf child with XTREME Flavor Blasted ADHD and autist stuff and i still managed to put in the *work* over multiple years of concentrated effort to become reasonably good at small talk with strangers

It's these sorts of things that make you look at the abortive mess that is your career and feel like it turns out some people just get a cheat code and you don't even get to play in normally.
Many people have correctly answered "hell no" but it's actually worse than that. Dude was on the oleaginous conservative op-ed beat his second year of college, and it was a glide path from there. Monomaniacally focused on being a wingnut apologist from his teens on.
Has Ross Douthat ever actually had a real job?

The post being referenced here was some real "Charlie Brown had hoes" bullshit.
I love Bluesky because it's often fun but I hate it because I had to read a post where someone called Leslie Knope a neocon shill and to you I say it is a television show and it absolutely does not matter you sound like a maniac

"I want to have an argument!"

That's nice, I want you to cease existing. Want to guess who wins? Here's a hint: the block button is right there.
no, I think it’s incredibly good actually that Bluesky gives people opt-in tools that allow them to use social media *without* constantly getting into stupid fights with strangers.
Blocking hatemongers is one thing but this trend of using mass block lists to avoid hearing from people who might or might not hold points of view you expect to disagree with is unhealthy imo and hurts the platform.

Bluesky was better off with folks like Margaret Mitchell and Giada Pistilli on it.

"It's a child's fault if their parents are poor" is a hell of a take and if that sounds like a batshit insane argument, congratulations, let people buy popsicles with food stamps.
