Want proof? Go look at the map from the presidential election immediately prior to the first time Trump was on the ballot. Florida, Iowa, and Ohio all landed in the blue column.

I’m not gonna dunk on some small depressed account, but one reply I get to this is “you think there’s gonna be elections/Trump will listen to judges??” And I wonder how people haven’t noticed that Garcia is home and free and Republicans got crushed in elections this year

Trump's revolution will fail, but we still have a long and painful road ahead of us.

What? I have specific preferences. I don't do bible belt and I don't do 'too far from a major body of water'. I have lived in Colorado, and New Mexico made the list because it doesn't completely suck, but those are my exceptions that prove the rule.

It’s not just that he’s going to lose; he *is* losing. He’s still capable of taking a lot of people and a lot of institutions out with him as he flounders. But this is not the precipice of a thousand year trumpian reich.

And they’ve kept losing in such a way that even captured institutions like SCOTUS have shown signs of life (they still need to be massively addressed in many ways, obv) like in curtailing his assertion of authority to send troops into states without their consent.

The Kilmar Abrego Garcia case is instructive. If they can’t be allowed to do what they want to *this one guy*, how can they have the power to remake all of society in their rancid image? They know this, which is why they’ve pushed so hard on it. But they also keep losing.

I will keep saying this until I'm blue in the face.

MTG isn't an ally, or potential ally. We don't need to welcome her into the tent. She's a wedge we can potentially use to help fracture their coalition. All we need to do is point her back at them and say, "Go!"
As I keep saying, Greene is proving herself to be a rare true believer in a royal court filled with liars, flatterers, and sycophants. That's noteworthy, and admirable in its way. But the principles in which she truly believes aren't liberal democratic ones.

She hasn't repented at all for Jan 6.
And if you refuse to give someone credit for standing for liberal democracy just because they don’t agree with your policy preferences, you’re missing the big picture. www.thebulwark.com/p/why-marjor...

It also greatly overestimates the extent to which swing voters make electoral choices based on candidates' policy positions.
I think the thing about the idea that democratic candidates need to moderate to convince swing voters is that it betrays a fear that we can’t appeal to voters on the basis of opposition to fascism and defense of democracy. And as I’ve become partial to saying, have some self respect.
I agree with Never Trumpers on a lot, but split hard on this: I do not think the Democratic Party needs to convince swing voters that Democratic candidates aren't too liberal. I think the party needs to convince swing voters that they themselves are actually quite liberal. They just won't admit it.

Zelensky is basically going through the motions to play for time. He knows nothing is going to come of these "peace" talks
Zelensky is right to keep meeting with Trump, even though Ukraine presumably know it's unlikely to go anywhere.

But as I wrote earlier this year, all these "peace talks" are a farce. Ukraine should do it to counter false narratives, and that's about it.

I have recently learned that, as a matter of fact, racists *really* hate this question.
Next time someone says they don’t have to apologize for being white anymore, ask them to tell about the most recent time they were forced to apologize for being white and who made them do it.

"Mid-career employees? We can hire those away from somewhere else."

Okay, but all of your competitors are doing the same thing you are in terms of replacing entry-level employees with AI.
So many employers — you see this in journalism all the time — view entry-level employees not as future mid-career employees but basically as cannon fodder.
If you think of "hiring in entry level positions" as "procuring labor to do the tasks entry level people do" then you probably do think AI is a magical headcount reduction machine.

But the point of hiring in entry level positions is to produce mid-career employees.

It remains astonishing that Trump refuses to be briefed by experts within the US government. A huge scandal, and one that relatively few voters are aware of.
If only we had this thing called the United States Intelligence Community that could advise the old man.
