I realise I have been remiss and have not posted the various items I have made in pottery class this semester. I decided to try again after a break of about five years.

I’ll probably pin this post so it’s easier to update it.

Disclaimer, I am not good at this by any means, but it’s fun.

Beautiful thread.
I was invited to a con in Puerto Rico soon after the hurricane. They were rebuilding everywhere, parts of the island were still without power. Trump was of course screwing them over.

I didn't feel it was right to go, but I was told repeatedly to please come, they needed tourism back.

AI models sometimes straight up don't work, but they also do weird things such as adding "noise" to make sure they don't write the same stuff in response to the same prompt over and over all the time...wonder if that might be a bad idea in ORs...

My favorite part of this article, in addition to the interesting new research on beneficial microbes (of course! of course!), is the picture that makes the gut microvilli look like hot dogs at a rave.

'Hidden' group of gut bacteria may be essential to good health
Scientists have pinpointed a group of bacteria that consistently appear in high numbers in healthy people, suggesting that these could one day be targeted through diet or probiotics

I think it’s time for us all to collectively get Wendigo by Buffy Saint-Marie to the top of the charts.

Reposting again because there's so much cute artist and disability aid stuff here and I have lots of moots and pixel friends that could make use of some lovely helpy things!
Happy Black History Month!

It costs 0$ to Repost a Black disabled queer small business! It could lead to my next sale.

These compression gloves are great quality and have helped so many people reduce their hand pain and swelling. It allows them to do things longer!

I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

Any time I look to see what the Labour government is up to in the UK it turns out to be things like making posters that Alfonso Cuarón put in the background of the long tracking shot that opens “Children of Men”.

Two thirds of all freshwater species are supported by ponds, but the number of ponds in the UK plummeted in the 20th century. So garden ponds are vital for biodiversity - and creating one could help frogs, toads, dragonflies, bats, hedgehogs, swifts…
