The reward for waking up early was a ride across the Golden Gate Bridge.
Sunlight streamed down the bridge, seagulls flew in the distance, and my heart soared too.
This is how a San Francisco morning should begin.

Valve just updated their Steam rules to ban content that “may violate rules set by payment processors or banks.” Sounds boring. It’s not. It’s the quiet normalization of financial censorship and it’s going to hurt LGBTQ+ games and devs

a study in 2020 (www.cnbc.com/amp/2020/11/...) found huge companies like Walmart and McDonald’s paid such low wages that their employees were among the top enrollees of medicaid and food stamps.

tell companies to stop freeloading off the system and take care of their employees. problem solved!
Oz: "When the program was created 60 years ago, it never dawned on anyone that you would take able-bodied individuals who could work & put them on Medicaid. Today the average able-bodied person on Medicaid who doesn't work, they watch 6.1 hours of TV or just hang out. Go out & try to get a job."

Reality: Drunk armed border patrol agents are going to assault you in the ladies’ room
Hodgson, the agent, was allegedly off-duty, intoxicated, and armed with a handgun while at a restaurant in the Shoreline Village in Long Beach. Hodgson allegedly entered the women’s restroom, where he approached a female who observed his handgun and firearm magazine.

Corporations using small Black neighborhoods as dumping grounds for their stupid AI data centers is nothing new.

They built highways through Black neighborhoods. Destroyed a Black neighborhood to build Central Park. Dumped waste sites and refineries near Black neighborhoods. It's always the same.

Side note: Carl Stokes was the first black mayor of a major U.S. city. He didn’t consider himself an environmentalist; he was focused on the needs of the urban poor. But he became an environmental justice pioneer by drawing attention to the impact of environmental problems on communities of color.

Today in history, 1969: The heavily polluted Cuyahoga River catches fire due to trapped debris and oil slicks, likely ignited by a passing train. It was not unusual, extinguished quickly and caused little damage, but it became a symbol for the Clean Water movement. /1

Rewatched terminator 2 last night. Fun movie about AI leading to nuclear war and how the easiest way to kill someone is to dress up like a cop. Can't say its themes resonate today.
