This whole corrupt regime has been a case study in just how broken the American system is. On the one hand, power really is distributed widely enough and popularly enough that he can’t really manage to consolidate power; on the other hand, power is also not concentrated enough to get rid of him.

Why even consider (some forms of) marriage a sacrament? The forming of couples and raising of children is all well and good, but it’s no more part of the divine life than any other human activity
It strikes me as strange that for certain people, marriage — probably the least clearly "sacramental" of the sacraments, the only sacrament not explicitly instituted by Christ — has become the lens by which every other sacrament is to be interpreted
