New York Magazine’s coverage from 2007 treated her as a joke & backgrounded Epstein raping her. (“rococo law filings filed by William J Unroch, Esq, on behalf of his client and maybe-girlfriend, Maximilia ‘Ava’ Cordero, a self-described model who claimed that at 16 she was molested by…Epstein”)
Leslie Wexner, former CEO of Victoria's Secret, was the other man named by Ava Cordero as her rapist and abuser alongside Jeffrey Epstein in 2007, only to be mocked and degraded and dismissed as crazy because she's trans.

Ok but what if they're just that hard up for killers at DHS?
Hours after Border Patrol agent Charles Exum shot Marimar Martinez five times, Gregory Bovino emailed him to ask he continue working past retirement:

"In light of your excellent service in Chicago, you have much yet left to do!!" he wrote.

The purpose is to disincentivize investments in vaccine development
NEW: The F.D.A. refused to accept an application from Moderna for its mRNA flu vaccine.

Its reason: The agency did not think Moderna compared the new vaccine to one of the best flu shots available. The company spent $750M+ on a 41,000 person study.

Yeah I used to not understand at all why so many wealthy and powerful people are so abhorrent and then one day not so very long ago someone pointed out that the gatekeepers deliberately only let in people who are severely compromised because they’re easy to keep control of and it made scary sense

it's probably a good sign for our democracy that every member of congress who has been in the secret epstein document room walks out saying stuff like "every powerful person in the country knew, they're all rapists and pedophiles, they should be tossed into a pit and crushed under boulders"

If you haven't been following along, airlines are canceling flights to Cuba because they're running out of jet fuel.

Marco Rubio's maneuvers in Venezuela are bearing fruit and strengthening the embargo's grip around Cuba's throat.

Please make this call! Cuba is entitled to food and fuel.
Just got off the phone with Nydia Velazquez's office. She's reintroducing HR943 this week, which calls for (among other things) dropping the criminal and genocidal embargo against Cuba.

It would be worth your time to call your own rep and urge them to support this bill!

isnt it illegal to look at and then tease unemployment numbers before theyre released
Peter Navarro: "The jobs report comes out tomorrow. We have to revise our expectations down significantly for what a monthly job number should look like ... Wall Street has to adjust for the fact that we're deporting millions of illegals out of the job market."

If Roy Sngham can pour hundreds of millions of dollars into the US so-called "peace movement" and Cuba falls because the best TPF was ever gonna do with it was send some pacemakers to Havana and give politically unreliable people media jobs then we really do have our work cut out for us. Depressing.

I love the framing here and how they get away with saying Jews (i.e. how forward thinking! How inclusive!) instead of Israelis (i.e. Syria has fallen to her enemies)
In the post-Assad era, more Jews are visiting Syria, a country that some fled decades ago. One hotel restaurant offers a corner where religious dietary requirements are melded with the local cuisine.

Capitalism became more exploitative in the wake of sellers' inflation and Trump made sure it stayed that way.

You do NOT want to live with the ghost of a dictator who is still popular with 40% of the country and a completely captive corporate media. Everybody will whitewash his crimes in three seconds flat and you will essentially the path of the next authoritarian.
I understand the impulse of wishing Trump would just die, but it's the 2nd worse way out of this (1st is not getting out of it). It's an admission that neither your political system nor your people can get rid of the 1st authoritarian that pops out, even if he's stupid and weak

I think collectively, we at least partially wanted the child at the Super Bowl to be Liam because the little boy on stage looked happy and healthy and our hearts want so badly to think these children can somehow magically recover from the evils our government is doing.
Super Bowl viewers Sunday speculated that 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos appeared in the halftime show. In fact, he has been in hiding with his family.

“He can’t sleep well at night. He wakes up three or four times a night screaming, ‘Daddy, Daddy,’” Liam's father Adrian Conejo Arias, said.

Some people thought they say the 5-year-old during the Super Bowl halftime show. But Liam is still in hiding with his family, after he and his father were detained and then released from a Texas deten...

I arrived too late to an abduction yesterday. Ice vehicles boxed in a food delivery driver on the highway. They took him, and when I came on the scene (with a few other neighbors in cars), his keys were still in it. We found his phone, a debit card, his car title and registration.

As an alleged geographer, I think a lot about scale. And at this age I'd argue the post-Soviet USA is a confirmation of Clyde Woods and his thesis of power structures scaling up from the Mississippi Delta to the federal level. Watching the Bad Bunny show last night got me thinking of the deep south.
