Sunday, at least 7 ICE agents stormed a house and took an elderly man out into the freezing cold, wearing only his underwear and a blanket.

He was a member of the Hmong community, which came to the area from Laos in the 1970s after siding with the US in the Vietnam War.

And it is being aired against a big football game and I am told nothing much has been changed except for adding news and, of course, zero substance from the administration. Any real reporter — which the current management of CBS is not — would call it for what it is: Bari-ing it.
If you're following the unbuilding of CBS News, there's a development.

@brianstelter.bsky.social says the Inside CECOT report is to air tonight, "according to sources at CBS."

This part interested me most: "The promised interview did not materialize."

You're all showing us that it's possible, and admirable, to live and act as a community.

We are stronger together.
Minnesotans know that.

I will say right now that growing up in militia land we never, never successfully built the organizational capacity or popular support to pull off an honest to God revolution. What I'm seeing out of MN looks like exactly that. DHS is cosplaying civil war, the resistance is building *capability.*

It legit seems like every single person (not hiding out of necessity) is doing some combo of:
- mutual aid
- school/daycare/neighborhood patrol
- holding things down at Whipple

Minneapolis and Saint Paul have basically mobilized into a war economy of mutual aid and non-violent defense. I’ve never seen anything like it, even during Covid. People who barely vote are guarding their schools from ICE and doing the shopping for neighbors in hiding.
This is so smart. I’m so impressed with all the different ways you’re helping your neighbors.

Identifying rogue, masked murderers isn't "doxing"—it’s reporting on crimes.
BRENNAN: Tell me about the officer, Jonathan Ross

KRISTI NOEM: Don't say his name! I mean, for heaven's sake, we shouldn't have people continue to dox law enforcement

BRENNAN: His name is public

NOEM: I know, but that doesn't mean it should continue to be said

This isn’t immigration policy. It’s a business model.

ICE keeps growing, not because it makes America safer, but because corporations are raking in billions off cages, bodies, and suffering. ICE’s existence is a massive revenue stream.

One of the most important things to keep in mind if you want to understand the American right today, especially the people leading the federal government and its allied media outlets, is they believe their own BS.

They really are in a bubble, and genuinely surprised when reality does not comport.
To those saying “nuh-uh, ICE picked Minneapolis because they WANTED the city to rise up as one against them” -

no, pretty sure they expected a scattering of blue-haired protesters they could easily crush for content + tacit support from other whites, not the organized total resistance they got.
ICE and MAGA really did bet the farm on all of Minneapolis’s white people going “oh yes, please take away our disgusting, evil non-white-foreigner neighbors, oh thank you so much.”

it’s beautiful that they’ve been proven incredibly wrong about that - may the rest of the country do the same.

I’m not sure people outside the Twin Cites realize the prevalence and the fear ICE is causing in Twin Cities. They are dining undercover pretending to be couples at restaurants, they are going to businesses and checking the license plates of cars to find employees. Every public place is compromised.

Bovino is such a fucking tool
Border Patrol chief Greg Bovino marches through Minneapolis surrounded by federal agents, shouting at American citizens.

This isn’t about deporting “the worst of the worst.” It’s about deliberately sowing fear and chaos in cities that oppose the Trump regime

I spent part of today sorting out what is going on with the Epstein Files. Why the delay? Why have the rolling productions stopped. And, what might a recent filing by Ghislaine Maxwell have to do with it.👀

Abolish ICE. Destroy their weapons and melt down their equipment. Deny their agents, employees, and bosses all government employment for all time. Remove the agency entirely from the budget and give the money to public libraries and free health care.

Its also how they're fudging their numbers, because they don't record their kidnappings unless they actually process them. So they smash and grab citizens, take them around, usually beat them up, and then dump them somewhere, no record of the interaction on their end of who the gestapo were.

ICE is absolutely repulsive. This makes me sick and has to stop.

There is no reforming the depraved and sick actions they are committing.

It's also worth noting some of the history on the Hmong and how they came to be in the US.

You can’t quote “I have a dream” on MLK Day then legislate against that dream every other day of the year.
