TAPPER: Can you rule out the US is going to take Greenland by force?

MILLER: Greenland should be part of the US. By what right does Denmark assert control over Greenland? The US is the power of NATO

T: So force is on the table?

M: Nobody is gonna fight the US militarily over future of Greenland

It's a silly question to start with, but, aside from that, the 'finding' is really that hardly anyone thought either the 1970s or 2020s were the best period and by far the biggest group just said 'Don't know'.

The Government coming off X is the bare minimum and realistically at this point I think we should seriously be looking at taking enforcement action against the company, in line with the Online Safety Act and VAWG Strategy. I will be pressing the Government on this when Parliament returns next week.

There is, to my mind, no justification for the continued use by the UK Government of X as a platform for official comms. There hasn't been for some time, in fact, but if the latest developments around AI-generated image abuse and CSAM don't change the policy I really don't know what will.

These days, people can't just dislike. They have to loathe.
Glad the FT is asking the question. Even if I’m not convinced they found a compelling answer.
I get that Starmer & Reeves are unpopular, I really don’t understand the extent of the dislike.

I saw Ken Stott at a Glasvegas gig and considered going up to tell him I enjoyed his performance as Rebus, but I decided against it.
Please quote this with the time you didn’t interact with someone famous - eg one time I was in Cardiff the same weekend as Willem Dafoe (but I didn’t see him or even know he was there until he appeared on the telly later)
Please quote this with your major interactions with massive celebrities. eg “I was married to the pope for fifteen years”

Having read this thread and then scanned the comments, I've concluded that, if you want people to take your piece on Marc Andreessen seriously, it's probably best not to include a photo of his head.
Marc Andreessen is one of the most influential men in America. The billionaire venture capitalist has an audience with everyone from Trump officials to pundits to Democratic senators to tech execs the world over.

So it’s a bit concerning that his worldview leans fascist. 🧵 /1

The 82% 'demanding a settlement be made' might be based on this poll from August, which reports that "82% consider negotiations to be a realistic way to end the war". So, not exactly 'demanding a settlement be made'.
