Yes, it hardly takes a genius to work out that a review that only finds problems in one direction is not an objective exercise.

As long as they hold the line on the no basis for a defamation claim, I don't think many people in Britain will be too bothered that they sent Trump a letter saying "Sorry about the bad edit, mate". If they fold at a later stage, that's a different matter.

HIGNFY shared a YT clip on Friday's edition and it's easily the most that show has made me laugh in decades - I was roaring and covered in tears on the third rewatch 🤣

It gives the impression that Trump said "We’re going to walk down to the Capitol and I’ll be there with you, and we fight. We fight like hell.", which he didn't.

I hope the BBC don't cave on the lawsuit, but I'm not confident. This is good on the lawsuit. emptycity.substack.com/p/a-close-lo...

I think Trump should be in prison for Jan 6 and what went before that, but that doesn't mean the edit wasn't misleading (the side-by-side comparison is pretty clear). Just a stupid & unnecessary thing to do when there was plenty of incriminating material to use.

A selectively edited clip by Panorama has resulted in the BBC being accused of making it appear clearer that the US president encouraged the Capitol attack

It doesn't strike me as particularly problematic (I think it's hard to argue that the edit wasn't misleading, if that's the issue). I think a more interesting question would be whether people think the BBC should pay compensation.

We moved from Spotify to Tidal recently and used TuneMyMusic to transfer music. It was very quick and straightforward. A small proportion of tracks weren't available on Tidal, but no big deal.
