Get ready for Ken to tell you that nothing good can ever happen and you’re an idiot to think anything can ever get better, it’s cool to be miserable.
Get ready for a Democratic Party influencer blitz to convince you that replacing Greg Bovino with Tom Homan is a huge win you should be grateful for.

Meanwhile here’s Tom Homan:

Evergreen post here.
Like someday your child will ask what you did during Trump, and you’ll say “I replied with ‘do something’ every time Hakeem Jeffries posted something!”

The real issue is that the Democratic Base is not actually the people who are online screaming about how Dems need to listen to the Democratic Base.
The real issue is that they subscribe to a theory of electoral politics in which pissing off your base is a cost-free way to earn votes from the "middle" and, nonetheless, keep losing to outright fascists. 2/

Donald Trump must fire Kristi Noem immediately.

Or Democrats will initiate impeachment proceedings against her in the House.

We can do this the easy way or the hard way.

One thing that’s abundantly clear watching U.S. TikTok users’ reactions right now is that it was already a tremendously valuable and addictive propaganda tool.

Once you understand that this notion has infected every corner of our political discourse, not only can you never unsee it, but you also start to piece together its implications on history like Chazz Palminteri at the end of The Usual Suspects.
All criticisms of Dems are valid and must be accepted. Democrats need to own up to the ways they have failed and admit them. Once Democrats have thus admitted that they can only ever fail, the people will then decide to lift them up, fully shriven, and finally support them in their new perfection.

I’m a very small follower account and don’t often get to deal with a brand new fresh bot, but this is a bot. There’s been a whole lot of agitation as rage bait lately, and a lot of it is not organic.

BREAKING Greg Bovino has been removed as Border Patrol "commander at large" and will return to El Centro Calif, where he is expected to retire soon. A stunning turnaround after Pretti killing. Bovino's traveling blue city crackdown is over www.theatlantic.com/politics/202...

The Border Patrol chief was the public face of a traveling immigration crackdown on cities governed by Democrats.

Interesting to see TikTok users going from a Chinese-controlled app to a right-wing-controlled app and suddenly crying censorship.

I see people who are like, where will I get my news?

We are so cooked in the information space war, chat.

Imagine where things would be if an individual anywhere in this nation, but especially in LA, Chicago, or Minneapolis during the surges, had broken discipline & shot a federal agent. I can guarantee you we wouldn't be watching an administration in full retreat from an angry public.

Actually will go one step further and the idea that "leftists" were anywhere near universally correct only works if you exclude everyone who bullshitted everyone who denied that Trump would be worse than Clinton or Biden and that seems like excluding a lot of self-proclaimed leftists. Like what

Propaganda has always been a powerful tool in politics, especially when the majority of the electorate sees everything in black & white & doesn’t understand basic civics or the roles the different factions within the parties play.

On this website at least “Democrats” most often means “the >5% of the legislative caucus that did the thing I didn’t like, all of whom I could name individually in this post but choose not to”
Super cool and awesome that “Democrats” means
* D elected officials
* D elected officials, but Manchin-ly
* professional D staffers and officials
* billionaire donors
* small dollar donors and activists
* people who vote for Democrats

It would save anguish if people just indicated which they mean

You might not like this message because it’s not aimed at you, but it’s a necessary one. We need MAGA to lose support, even if it only means they stay home in November.
You may have voted for him. You may have supported what he said Operation Metro Surge was going to be.

But it’s okay to say you changed your mind. It’s okay to say he’s gone too far.
