Ideally you want to go ham on doing this. (I think, but I honestly don’t know what that means.)
if you're an older person who finds words like mogg and maxxing annoying, just starting using them. people over the age of 30 have the superpower to end trends by simply adopting them

“Republicans have a tiny bit of agency, and, yes, they used it to do something bad, but you have to understand that’s only because democrats — the ones who have full-fledged agency, and thus deserve most of the blame — did something bad first.”
Physically incapable of analyzing politics outside of this insipid frame.

DHS is shutting down shortly while the rest of the government remains open bc democrats (so far, things could change) actually handled this situation pretty well, but if you think those facts are going to have any effect on senate Gabe’s poasting, well, I’m afraid you don’t know senate Gabe.

I know a major climate group spent all of 2024 loudly and proudly proclaiming it could see no difference between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris that would justify actually voting for one over the other, but perhaps controversially I do not think a Harris Presidency would have done this

Aside from bullshit that centrist outlets spout (which, to be clear, I am not excusing) we also need to acknowledge that the average American voter saw “Mass Deportation Now” signs at the GOP convention and thought “cool, as long as my car juice gets cheaper”. This is largely a nation of bigots.
Trump lied about immigrants in 2016 too. He then defeated an official from the administration that holds the deportation record.

If migration caused Trump's reelection (I don't think it did), it wasn't b/c of migrants. It was b/c mainstream, centrist outlets amplified fearmongering about migrants.
Not going to read them all because jesus fucking christ but this is nasty work from Friedersdorf

Since Bovino surely has absolutely no idea what he is talking about, we need to get someone to feed him a giant pile of elephant crap and tell him it’s like stewed wolverine or something so he eats it all and says it’s delicious.
For anyone wondering what Greg Bovino has been up to lately…

Oh word?
Update: FAMU says banning the word Black from a law student’s Black History Month flyer was a mistake, and the result of an “overly cautious interpretation” of Florida law

A Florida A&M University law student says the school told her to remove the word 'Black' from a Black History Month event flyer. The school says it is in full compliance with state law

We’ve run over 1,000 simulations and in each one of them Tim Walz gave kids free lunches at school and you screamed and shat your pants bc you thought poor kids should instead acquire a work ethic by starving.
Rollins: "School lunches are next. A lot of schools don't even have an oven anymore. When I was growing up, lunch ladies were back there cooking meals on stoves. So how do we completely and fundamentally change the system to go back to where we're serving healthy whole foods to these kiddos?"

There really are no words for how idiotic this is. It sounds like hyperbole but an average 12 year old understands more about the economy than this shithead. And he IS stupid, but that’s not the main issue here IMO. It’s that he simply DOES. NOT. CARE. about facts. Bc his voters don’t either.
TRUMP: We can grow at 15 percent. I think more than that!

KUDLOW: Well, 15 is a big number sir

TRUMP: But Larry, you can do it. We used to grow at 15 percent because we had spirit. Today we have a lot of communism

The purpose is to disincentivize investments in vaccine development
NEW: The F.D.A. refused to accept an application from Moderna for its mRNA flu vaccine.

Its reason: The agency did not think Moderna compared the new vaccine to one of the best flu shots available. The company spent $750M+ on a 41,000 person study.

Chat, is it normal and not racist to draw an inference about Puerto Ricans as a group based on a performance from one singer who is Puerto Rican?
It literally had a heterosexual wedding, dude

A lot of dumbasses on social media seem to think that it somehow follows from the fact that elected/appointed democrats have agency and many deserve considerable blame for doing bad or dumb things in office that voters *don’t* have any agency. Incorrect, comrade Collins.
okay but like the burden is literally on us

The core of Trumpism is hatred. But whereas Trump hates basically everyone, in a totally unfocused way, the kind of fucking idiot interviewed in these NYT stories hates a more specific set of people. The problem is that it’s worth it to them to hurt millions others, to get to hurt those they hate.
These people are just crazy. Trump gets up and says "MASS DEPORTATIONS MASS DEPORTATIONS MASS DEPORTATIONS" and they're like "he probably means a path to legal status for deserving immigrants"
