Wikipedia’s journey from citation pariah to crowdsourced miracle to right-wing punching bag is such a perfect encapsulation of internet history.

So, of these four options, we have:
1. Economic collapse
2. financial engineering (that probably won’t work, and even if it does still wouldn’t be great)
3. Eliminate at least part of the American welfare state
4. Increase the average families taxes by $77 every two weeks ($5.50 a day).

hard choice

Anyhow if people on here are going to do Peter G Peterson Foundation stuff because Orange Man Bad I'm not going to stop them but I am going to point out those arguments have hilariously bad track records regardless of who is in the Oval.

Trump guys are about to Comet Pizza every third daycare center because they think they are all fronts for Somali money laundering. They're only doing this near cities with progressive mayors. This is straight up Government by LibsOfTikTok.

IMO one of the best research studies of the year.

TLDR: A new study shows that rideshare has improved employment outcomes, social connections, and well being of people with disabilities—with the highest benefits being for those with vision/hearing or mobility disabilities. WOW. #disabilitysky #phd
I am excited to announce I am on the #EconJobMarket this year! 🎉 My research explores economic barriers for people with disabilities at the intersection of labor, public, and health economics.

My #EconJMP examines how reliable transportation transforms outcomes for this population. 🧵1/6

By multiple measures the United States is a less healthy country than it was a year ago and I think any coverage of MAHA should make that clear.

Back when news photogs were still using film Nikons, the 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-D was one of the first really usable zoom lenses to cover everything from wide angle to short telephoto.

Slap one on your F4 and show up at the news event and it could cover the whole shebang w/o having to change lenses.

But evangelicals really take the concept of hell and RUN with it. I tend to blame Jonathan Edwards, whose “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” really established the template for that style of theology.

The postal service is a constitutional requirement for a reason.

If you can't facilitate commerce and communications in a place you functionally do not own it at all.

Does it count if the books are the Titan omnibus reissues of the Bantam Book Aliens novels? Because I read 11 of them this year.
NEW: How many books did you read this year? If it was more than 2, congrats: you read more than the median American.

You really can’t analyze Trump as a political phenomenon if you refuse to acknowledge the historic threads of racism, patriarchy, xenophobia, and push towards total capitalism. So yeah I imagine it’s easier to treat him as an inscrutable force if all of that sounds cringe to you.

Real "oh my god, she admit it" moment here. Trump is treated as an uninteresting figure without agency so we can dump endless criticism on liberals for how they react to his "natural disaster." He "doesn't participate in moral frameworks" lmfao

As soon as I saw the headline, I had a pretty good guess who wrote it. Hartocollis is the go-to reporter to restore the reputation of campus conservatives. She led the Times campaign to push out Claudine Gay at Harvard, which was initiated by New College trustee Chris Rufo.

This seems to be driven by Strangelove Miller's pathological need to bomb shit and deport people on makebelieve intelligence claims, manic Cuban-American politics, and deliberate incompetence.

There's no consideration of what happens if they succeed in VZ and Cuba.

Getting a lot fun comments, thanks literary world. The op-ed showcases just how lazy editing has become. Putting Whittaker Chambers in the pantheon, that’s opinion, but not red penning any paragraph that begins “anecdotal evidence suggests” is just a discredit to my former profession.
