Just buried my aunt, an Alabama fan. One of the people from the funeral home made sure we gave her a final Roll Tide at the gravesite. The legends are true

Among the many creepy things in the Epstein documents is the way these people communicate with each other. Like, even accounting for some of the subject matter, they don't talk like the rest of us do. It's overdone, second-rate movie villain stuff

Here's an early indicator for South Carolina football this coming season:

The Gamecocks have not started a season 3-0 since Shane Beamer's arrival. The 2026 schedule starts: Kent State, Towson, Mississippi State. All at home.

That's the first test. 3-0 or bust.

A satire post that would only be funny if it were true is not, in fact, funny

Yes, but Tom Nichols says nuanced things on here, so they are evil
I read the Atlantic. It has been publishing articles, including several entire special issues, on Trump as a fascist/right-wing authoritarian since 2016.

Nice dunk attempt, though.

Here's the thing that seems relatively clear to me about the Andy Burnham saga: If you make a big deal out of potentially being able to take down your party's leader, and then you need the party's leadership to support you politically...well, you've made your bed

My position makes it very hard for me to talk about politics in anything but the broadest or most neutral strokes I can find. But I hope my handful of followers do not take silence as complicity. And I hope others know that my silence will not, cannot be infinite

This will make me choke on my words, but I'll defend Dabo. The projected starter for Clemson was the No. 6 QB for his recruiting class. There is no need to go pick up a splashy transfer. This is how teams always used to do it, and it can work. Craziness out there www.thestate.com/sports/colle...

Oh yay people are arguing about the profile of the Democratic nominee in two years' time, which is warranted because it is inconceivable that the political climate might change in unanticipated ways between now and early primaries in 2028

Listen, I don't watch as many movies as I used to and have long since grown accustomed to the fact that blockbusters don't get a fair shake. But you're going to have a hard time convincing me there were five performances better than Florence Pugh in Thunderbolts. She carried that movie

One very important and explicit aspect of Calhoun's ideology was that the Founders had been *too* squeamish about slavery. He was a break from previous pro-slavery politicians, not a continuation
Sorry but anyone who tries to tell you (leftistly) that Calhoun is a more authentic exemplar of the American political tradition than Frederick Douglass is a wrecker.

More his guest/co-host/whatever, but it's particularly galling in the context of discussing Dr. King's non-violence to decry "bringing religion into it" because the two were interconnected. Don't talk about Dr. King without acknowledging either the breadth of his vision or its religious dimension
Matt Taibbi criticizes the ICE protests in Minneapolis, and says Martin Luther King Jr. would not have approved of them.

Taibbi claims MLK would not support "guilt because of racial identity" or "bringing religion into it".

Now I have to decide if it's even worth watching The Night Agent's third season without Rose. It was a massive mistake writing her out. It was her show too
