The latest from YouGov: people seem narrowly sour on the Venezuela crisis but I'm looking at the high shares of Don't Know across the board. People don't know what's going on. I continue to think this will barely impact the nat'l GOP brand - prob help it in Florida.

Very obvious that Republican insiders viewed this as an insider trading opportunity
January 3, 2026 at 6:18 PM
Unfortunately, I think these numbers are likely to go up now that Trump is actually doing it. Especially with signoff from those who are laughably characterized as "moderates."
Some polling:
Invading Venezuela - 19% approve, 60% disapprove
OK to go w/o Congressional approval - 11% yes, 74% no
👇
Invading Venezuela is a close second:
19% approve, 60% disapprove.

Republican billionaires want to be able to manufacture child pornography at such scale they want to engineer a political environment where they're allowed to get away with it as long as SmarterChild will tell law enforcement "oopsie!" every time they do it
so x dot com’s ai generated CSAM and they admitted it may violate US law and … i haven’t seen in anyone in power say much at all or call to stop using the platform

Unprecedented corruption. Everyone gets a taste.

"Salus had never received a federal contract before, according to government spending records."
DHS reportedly fast-tracked a contract worth almost $1 billion to a company led by a donor to a pro-Trump nonprofit group where one of the officials overseeing the deal previously worked.

That raises serious ethics concerns.

Glad someone pointed this out! Happy to report, this wave of our survey included women 18-29 as well! About 58 percent of Trump-voting young women also agreed with this view.

But also important to note *far* fewer young women voted Trump than young men.

There are too many instances of this to count but hey bluesky, for 2026 can we commit to understanding the difference between "a survey found [result]" and "a pollster is absolutely delighted to report, and personally is in full agreement with, [result]"
What’s the funniest reason someone got mad at you on Bluesky this year?

This administration is teaching a generation of good people who want to protect their Republic and uphold its values: don't bother
“Justice officials felt sure Homan would not be able to obtain a security clearance based on the evidence gathered in the corruption probe, which they and FBI agents believed had shown Homan unsuitable for a trusted senior role. It remains unclear how Homan was eventually granted a security.”
Border czar Tom Homan didn’t receive normal background check during bribery probe
President-elect Trump initially balked at submitting names of likely nominees to the FBI for background checks, a basic step intended to flag possible financial conflicts or ethical problems.

Sad to see the DLCC closing out 2025 by lying to Democrats to try take their money.

❌ No such thing as "DLCC membership"
❌ You do NOT need to pay to be a Dem (fucking baffling to imply you do)
❌ I *have* donated to DLCC this year. Their slop consultant just needed to shit out some copy

Bad stuff!
