As I say goodbye to Twitter, I want to make sure to share my #SuperMarioMaker2 “game” here as well. Some of these levels are more polished than others, but I’m still proud of the end result.

My Maker ID is VYD-354-DCG.

I played the Metroid Prime 4 demo and it’s worrying. Samus has a cold and frequently sneezes all over the inside of her helmet. There’s no way to clean it so you have to wait for the snot to drip off the glass. I hope she isn’t sick for the whole game.

My favorite part of any multiplayer game is those first few days when everyone who is as bad as I am hasn’t been chased away by the folks who know what they’re doing. I’m racking up the wins in Lumines Burst Battles and it’s a fun little ego boost while it lasts.

The value of reading history is you know that in 1860 there were abolitionists who were so demoralized that they thought chattel slavery would be permanent. 5 years later those still alive had lived to see its end.

I've found what I believe to be at least some of Epstein's texts with Steve Bannon.

They're labeled in the recent House Oversight document dump under the file: HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_027594.txt

wrote an essay about the lowdown, and how it can be hard to think about drama at a time when there never seem to be consequences for bad guys, and how the lowdown offers us a way out

The thing about Mamdani is that he’s a talented politician but not otherworldly or one in a billion, he’s just a competent guy with popular ideas who ran against an entitled piece of shit and to me it’s a lot more optimistic to imagine 1000 campaigns like his than to view him as a unique phenomenon

When families lack access to enough nutritious food, children face lasting consequences—from poorer health outcomes to reduced academic performance.

That’s why we need you to join us in urging Congress to restore access to #ProtectSNAP. Take action now: act.unicefusa.org/campaign/SNAP

Federal changes made to #SNAP in July have already put millions of U.S. children at greater risk of hunger — impacting families in every community. Now, with the ongoing government shutdown, those challenges are compounding.

This needs more attention: Zohran SPLIT the straights with Cuomo. ALL of his margin was from LGBTQ+ voters. Every Dem who ever said “we should abandon the transes” needs this shoved down their fucking throat with a ramrod.

basically every 2024 truism is dead. Trump did not build a lasting multiracial coalition or turn young men into committed Republicans. You don’t need to cave on trans rights to win. The pundits have nothing left to tell you.

This is why Chuck has NO REASON to come back to the table. Let them twist. If you're coming back with wins this big during a shutdown, the people know where their bread is buttered. Don't throw them a lifeline. These aren't tiny margin wins. They're blowouts.

this is such a great encapsulation of why this race feels existential even to people outside NYC. Cuomo as the final boss of everything wrong with the current Democratic Party, Mamdani happily grabbing the third rails everyone’s told are too dangerous to touch (trans people, Muslims, socialism)
It's uncanny how Cuomo has been laser-focused at appealing to the absolute worst qualities in people - their insularity, their tribalism, and now their fear. A campaign monumental in its cynicism, a colossal bet by this man and his billionaire backers that people are basically bad.
This isn't a closing election argument, it's Vidkun Quisling explaining why surrender is better than resistance.

If you’re looking to understand what’s happening in the rightwing media grifter ecosystem and Fuentes in particular, I can’t recommend @knowledgefight.bsky.social enough right now. Alex Jones remains the primary dingdong, but hosts Dan and Jordan have been doing a good job of branching out.
