LLM based AI is essentially a mirror of human creative output. It’s using math to regurgitate text and images created by humans in a form that is plausibly in answer to the prompt.

Yes, this. Also, the way you prevent most non-white-collar crime is providing a robust social safety net. People who have enough food and secure shelter and access to healthcare are not usually desperate enough to steal or harm others.
I think if housing was free, there would be a lot less domestic violence and abuse
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

Wielding power over the powerless is the mark of the bully. Wielding strength against the weak is cowardice. Real strength is when you have such power, but choose to use it in defence of the vulnerable instead. That is the mark of the true warrior.

This is a wild misunderstanding of what cities are like and who lives and works in them. Unless you work in commercial real estate, remote work isn't destroying your city.
if you cant go in to the office 3 days a week then you really can't complain when cities are hollowed out. cities are places where ppl work and network. getting rid of that makes cities useless
And it's usually something like "but that's not what the literal DNC does!" as if I don't know, as someone who has worked on Dem campaigns, sometimes in conjunction with the DNC what they do. So I'm going to be very specific here: this is the DNC being shitty: www.nytimes.com/2025/11/12/u...

RE starbucks picket line--the relevant detail is "picket line, do not cross." Pass that along. Proclaiming that you are in no danger of doing so because you are too aesthetically pure to let Starbucks coffee pass your lips is...unhelpful and does not give the impression you perhaps imagine it does.

This is I think an underrated truth: being intelligent is I think primarily a matter of habit. Do you actually listen and try and take on board what you've heard or read before responding? Do you go 'okay, is that true?' about your own thoughts and prejudices? These are learnt, not innate.
and ultimately I think if you’re constantly saying stupid stuff then it just makes you stupid.

Today is a good day to remember, and to say, that the #MeToo movement was right, and was righteous, and has been vindicated over and over again. There was no overreach. There was no excess. There was no they-went-too-far.

So much work remains to be done.

100% true. Some of the best critics of AI are computer scientists or engineers with a holistic intellect: people who truly understand the tech and therefore its limits — eg @cloudquistador.bsky.social. It’s not a matter of tech experts versus intellectuals. The AI cultists do not understand tech!
Many modern technologists and computer scientists are very cogent systems thinker because any sufficiently advanced technology *is people*, all technical systems are socio-technical. The capital T Tech dipshits talking about “alpha” are mainly cosplaying finance people, regardless of their training
This is absolutely the case. Tech Guys of previous generations, to the extent that that category can be read back into the 19th and 20th centuries, were shockingly well-read by modern standards

Regarding the transgender women in sports “issue” here’s why it’s about transphobia and not fairness🧵

There are two schools of thought on this:

1. Men are in women’s sports. This is a problem.

2. Transgender women do not seem to be disproportionately outcompeting cisgender women. No problem.

So if a newspaper writes negatively about suspending Sarah Kendzior and Link, if a couple journalists get on this and ask you for statements, you'll finally talk to us about those wrongful bans and what your secret policy is?
We usually do that in response to media requests once they hit that threshold. I’ll try not to weigh in here, since that’s still details of an individual case. An interesting topic for a separate write up though, without discussing case specifics.

Journalist friends, you know what to do.

Sarah Kendzior was suspended, she doesn’t know why, and the head of T&S said he won’t confirm whether or not the suspension was intentional unless media requests hit a threshold

I want to uplift the women who were girls who were raped by Epstein & Maxwell & Trump & ex-Prince Andrew & abandoned by everyone who's been scrambling lately to say that they didn't know of course they didn't know but they did know & some of them knew because they'd done it too.
