I hate to burst everyone's bubble but if you think that CBS News losing ratings or prestige matters to David Ellison, you're mistaken. Murdoch ran the NY Post for 45 years without turning a profit. They want these media companies to pump propaganda, not to get ratings or make money.

and I feel fucking crazy because only a few other people seem to have noticed this?? even sceptics constantly seems to fall back on assuming (usually implicitly) human intent behind that text. and the reason I don't read AI text is because I think it's basically impossible not to do that over time

A friend at Cato just did some great work quantifying this and his main point was to underscore how relatively rare it still is, to throw a bit of a cold water on the panic. But he also found, as any serious methodology inevitably does, right-wing outnumbered left-wing several times over.
