The Mandalorian and Grogu bit would have worked if they had made three of them, each based off a different iconic Super Bowl commercial.

Give me Pedro Pascal and baby Yoda yelling “whaaazuuuup” at each other

Would really love to meet the man who bought his towels for less than $2 a pop from a comic book ad in the ‘80s

Miss those few years where they would use the Brisco County Jr theme for the Olympics and every now and then my ears would perk up to it

Reading Amazon reviews of Altman’s The Company and I love when an Altman movie breaks containment. The reviews are split evenly between dancers who are like “nobody has ever captured this business more realistically…5 stars” and people who are like “There wasn’t a single scrap of plot! 1 star”

Rewatching the Monsterverse in advance of Monarch season 2 and because these scenes from Godzilla 2014 and Monarch Season 2 don’t align, I’m choosing to believe Godzilla fell for this bit twice

Love that the relatable Gremlins memes that first connected me and @andrewihla.bsky.social are just now getting traction

Free Guy is an insane title because it's a video game reference for extremely old people that has no relationship with the genre of video games it's supposedly commenting on

Pokemon pinball machine officially announced! Sounds like they got the rights to the theme song too!

Just snagged tix to a 35mm double feature of Viva Las Vegas (the best Elvis movie) and King Kong vs Godzilla!

Still thinking about how I learned homophobia existed only after asking my mom why Mr. Green would claim to have a wife if he was gay at the end of Clue.

The end of Multiple Maniacs is genuinely so evocative

Wild but glad to see this picked up by mainstream news. Proud of our local pinball league for coming out early with a statement saying that the IFPA's policies don't go nearly far enough and allowing all players to opt out of IFPA scoring this season until they can find a more inclusive competition
In November, a trans woman was forced out of a restroom by an arcade manager at a pinball tournament in NC.

The incident, and the way it was handled by the International Flipper Pinball Association, has fractured the community.

How a trans woman's removal from a restroom tore the world of competitive pinball apart
Pinball is one of the most welcoming sports for trans players. But after a confrontation at an arcade last fall, pinball’s governing group is struggling to rebuild trust.

People like me who rewatch Godzilla movies all the time complaining about stock footage in the late-Showa movies will always make me laugh "oh no, Godzilla scenes I've seen before!"

Like yeah, that's fine. I like seeing Godzilla! I don't care what movie it was filmed for.

Disney movies were better when they were plotted by the storyboard artists who just built them out of sequences of cartoon business like the dog telephone. When Katzenberg and Eisner took over, they were aghast that they didn't start with screenplays and made them start with writing
Went to 101 Dalmatians at El Capitan. Very charming movie. In an age of Save the Cat script doctors, I admire that it makes some truly weird choices like spending ten minutes simply depicting the dog version of the telephone.

But there were no bunnies so I give it a 0/10

I’m sorry but any commercial that’s out now is not a Super Bowl commercial

Pam Grier and Jim Brown are also the heart of Mars Attacks! and two of the only characters to make it through unscathed
Worth a read and not letting Burton off the hook, but he cast Marlon Wayans as Robin and Billy Dee Williams as Two-Face, and someone else decided to undo that shit
Tim Burton’s films are generally beloved, but does nostalgia blind us to issues like representation? Read our newest article by @sharai.bsky.social and decide for yourself if maybe revisiting the past isn’t always a good thing. #horrorsky

Watching Jailhouse Rock and really enjoying the widescreen photography when I realized it's directed by the guy who did some of my favorite Weissmuller Tarzan movies. Looked up his working method and I'm now obsessed with Richard Thorpe
