My last big story for the year is up at @dwell.bsky.social: I spoke with ~a dozen millennials who left big cities during or after the pandemic. What I found was a lot of people trying to redefine what ‘upward mobility’ might mean: www.dwell.com/article/rura...

As a result of Covid, many young people moved in search of more affordable lifestyles. But in today’s America, is there any place left where you can have it all?

I’d started to wonder whether the Epstein files were a bit of a macguffin, but no no they implicate the President of the United States in a pedophilia ring—and show the entire Republican Party as well as much of the federal government has been baldly covering it up. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

Democrats at every level of power could simply repeat "he must resign" over and over and over again. It's what the GOP would do if the situation were reversed. Further erode his power by pushing him to lash out more.

Someone a while ago said he probably can’t grow one and that’s why he’s so mad but also there’s that whole baby faced Aryan motif he’s super into and that’s probably a lot of it. Like you look at those ICE recruiting posts that look like German WW2 propaganda and it all fits a theme.

So what happened was, in one day, I had several things happen that messed with my mental health, the worst of which was my dad having a suspected heart attack.

He's doing well, no more pain, but he's already had a triple bypass, so the hospital's keeping him for a week.

I could use positive vibes.
Today is really trying to be an awful, irredeemable day.
