not surprising dems are clinging to the filibuster. without it voters might expect them to do the things they always pretend they want to do. so the filibuster has to stay.

The promotion of pseudoscience about a supposed “cause” or “cure” of autism and the destruction of special education (and all of public education, really) are part of the same project. It is a fascist attempt to expel certain people from the body politic, based in eugenics.
There are reports that the *entire* office of special education at the US Dept of Education has been cut. These hardworking folks ensure kids with disabilities get equal access to a quality education.

America’s children deserve better than this.

Absolute losers.
Kamala Harris on MSNBC now saying she “always believed titans of industry” would be guardrails for democracy but now—shocker—she reports that turns out they’re not. Only, she still’s waiting! “At some point they’ve got to stand up.” This kind of willful naïveté & denial doesn’t need airtime.

In the 2010s, this country's elites were thrown onto social platforms with everyone else and could finally read what we all think about them and it caused them so much psychic damage that they decided to destroy both the internet and democracy to make sure nothing like it ever happened again.
If this is what it took for you to be pushed into fascism you were probably already there

The right wing will attempt to address this issue by funneling immigrants, prisoners, snd/ or other oppressed groups into forced labor. Watch
Farmers in deep-red Pennsylvania are struggling to find workers. They're pushing lawmakers to move faster on a farm labor solution, even as Trump cracks down on immigration.

“We need people to do the jobs Americans are too spoiled to do," said one farmer and three-time Trump voter.

The one time we got the smoking gun of undeniable ideology that mapped neatly onto american partisanship in political violence was J6, and we decided it was too scary to treat it as such, so now we return to deciphering memes of school shooters like medieval peasants panicking at an eclipse.

That fucking WNBA thing, like with every dumb right-wing meme pretending to have no ideology, has now quickly become an unashamed placeholder for every murderous fascist fantasy on the books. Rinse and repeat.
As if this week were not bizarre enough: Mount Pleasant residents tell me a group of federal agents gathered for a photo-op near a pro-immigrant banner, pictured below, then tore it down.

In its place, they left a dildo. A neighbor's Ring camera captured the whole thing...

It is increasingly clear that western governments are invested in Israel—politically, economically and militarily—because its hypermilitarised culture, murderous border regime and complex latticework of internally segregated citizenship are the model they aspire to as the response to climate crisis.
I don’t think Germany’s staunch support of Israel is merely ideological or rooted in post-WW2 guilt. I think it is largely strategic. I think it is planning for a world where Germany wishes to suppress or expel much of its non-white population. The Nazis are at 25% in the polls, for goodness’ sake.
Germany’s huge cuts to the sectors providing migration services while pumping huge money into its military points to a fundamental reshaping of German society. A hard-edged future where security is valued over community. Migrants (non-white, obviously) are mere threats to be policed and controlled.
