The Trump "compact" would require colleges that agree to commit to freezing tuition for 5 years. Freezes or caps are often proposed as a solution to college affordability.

🧵 Why is this a misguided solution that might actually lead to lower- and middle-income students and families paying *more*?

Still upset about no power of the purse language. You truly do hate to see it. The Trump admin undertook the most expansive set of illegal budgetary actions of any president in history, and broadcast as loudly as possible they’d keep doing it, and nothing. Budgetary lawlessness.

After issuing guidance saying they were working on administering full benefits, USDA has now released guidance saying releasing full benefits was unauthorized, and states that did so must claw back funds.

More chaos and incompetence from this administration, harming the hungry.

A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

Trump’s manufactured hunger crisis is a moral failure. And now a federal judge agrees with what we all knew: Trump’s plan to withhold SNAP funding and steal food off the tables of millions of Americans is illegal.

Still thinking about Zohran’s full-throated defense of immigration and how long i’ve waited for it. No bullshit about border security or “legal” immigrants but just unabashed support for immigrants. How many people feel so much more seen today? I know I do. 1/

More people voted in New York City’s election this year than they have in 50 years.

That’s a win for democracy, and a testament to @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social's inspiring campaign.

Congratulations to the next mayor of the greatest city in the world. 🗽

Congratulations to all the Democratic candidates who won tonight. It’s a reminder that when we come together around strong, forward-looking leaders who care about the issues that matter, we can win. We’ve still got plenty of work to do, but the future looks a little bit brighter.

Don't forget that Zohran Mamdani spent his entire campaign standing proudly beside the trans community. He went to trans rights rallies just to show support. He proudly waved trans rights flags without hesitation. He refused to back down in support of trans rights. That makes me happy.
