Seeing people put together an aid flotilla for Cuba after being inspired by the flotillas for Palestine (a new one sails in march!!) proves to me that they weren't an exercise in futility. I hope we can all come together to aid everyone beseiged by imperialist rot

They raided the jailed children to steal their letters.

The problem, in federal officials' minds, wasn't confining children in prison-camp conditions; it was that the children could tell the public about it.
“I don’t want to be in this place I want to go to my school.”

Today, after @propublica.org published this story, the camp was raided to confiscate letters from the children.

This is absolutely heroic tbh, incredible work, succinct & precise
Swiss Olympic bobsled commentator broke a century of neutrality and spent the entire run of the Israeli bobsled team recounting all the pro-genocide remarks and social media posts by Adam Edelman, one of the apartheid state athletes.

Absolute legend. More of this in sports please!

I also kinda wanna point out that in my experience some of the most insufferable, boring peeps on Earth are former fat peeps.
Not saying peeps don't get pushback for choices but like... so often they are also suddenly only about one thing and it is boring AF.
Just like the narratives around trans rights and racial justice, this framing constructs "activists" as unreasonable, radical and holding all the power.

"Do you know how mean fat activists are if you lose weight?"

Do you know how mean everyone else is if you don't?!

The AI dorks have no ideas. They don't understand or appreciate art. They have nothing to say.

$30,000. Imagine what any of your favorite creative minds on Bsky who struggle to sell enough things to make rent every month could do with $30k given to them to make something from their hearts.
AI filmmaking is completely unserious.

You've got people with $30k begging the internet for ideas by next week because they have nothing of their own to say, it's just slop for the sake of slop. Embarrassing state of affairs.

It’s so hard to have a reasonable conversation about AI, because people refuse to see the massive upsides of job elimination, higher electrical bills, hard drive shortages, poisoning black people in Memphis, and an economy where a handful of pedos with bad hair control your life

Jesse Jackson appeared on Sesame Street in 1973.

During his appearance, he led a group of children in reciting his well-known poem “I Am Somebody,” a message focused on self-worth and empowerment

The segment became one of the most memorable celebrity appearances from the early seasons of the show.

Rev. Jesse Jackson's "I *am* somebody..." remains one of the all-time great pieces of 20th century rhetoric / agitprop

And he could deliver it at a Black separatist meeting, the Democratic National Convention, or on god-blessed Sesame Street (see below 🥹)
