BREAKING: Marshall Islands becomes the first country to launch a Universal Basic Income program. Every resident (about 33,000 people) will receive $200 every 3 months. This works out to being about 11% of GDP per capita. If the US did that same percentage, the UBI would be about $770/mo.

Ed Husic grills ANZ CEO Nuno Matos & asks how it’s fair that ANZ ripped off 65K customers & the worst punishment received by Senior Execs was not getting a bonus, while at same time the bank is sacking 3500 workers who didn’t do a thing wrong.
Matos says he’s not proud about it. #Estimates

Can you imagine YOUR city like this? Why not, more to the point.

All road deaths are a decision made at all levels of Government, within the courts, and to a large extent within the manufacturing of cars and the marketing of them. It doesn't have to be this way.
“Helsinki hasn’t registered a single traffic-related fatality in the past year…Citing data that shows the risk of pedestrian fatality is cut in half by reducing a car’s speed from 40 to 30km/hr, city officials imposed the lower limit in most of Helsinki’s residential areas & city center in 2021.”
Helsinki just went a full year without a single traffic death
The capital city is Finnish’ed with car-related fatalities.

It is from diseased Tasmanian salmon farms?

It's not just ambition on climate action that's being run down, but nature.

Planet Earth is in the fight of its life and, on balance, those of us who are its allies are losing.

It's our duty to work out why, and act on it.
