Although formally a science and mathematics educator, I am somewhat a polymath. I’ve held almost every position there is in K-12 schools. My ‘easy’ - as in subject that I taught the most - is Physics. One of my chief skills is adjusting abstract concepts to general audiences.
It was a possum in the kitchen!
The kitchen bin had clearly been ransacked this morning, and paw prints were on the dining table.

A bit cooler today, and very windy. I stayed home and indoors, and it was a lovely quiet day. I posted this recent photo as a black and white, as I had a pyjama day.

I’m still amazed that anyone seriously thinks ‘conservative feminism’ exists. 😳

The workplace was perfect—until women showed up?
Last week, the New York Times, decided to ask the question: "Did Women Ruin the Workplace?". No, this isn’t satire.

Just a heads up. Every time BlueSky updates, at least on the iOS app, a lot of settings revert. Like ‘who can reply’ and ‘require alt-text’.

A strange day today. I’m still processing it all. Lovely Spring weather, a comfortable 21°C. Chris and I went for a walk, about 15 minutes in the local park, just prior to dinner. I know it’s good for me, but I made a point of it because I was angry.

Genitally-Obsessed Bigotry is a huge problem for a humane world
We have been tracking people’s experiences with gendered spaces and our new report looks at the impact of the 2025 EHRC interim update on access to, and experiences within, gendered spaces in the UK.

There are some conflicts that continue to simmer away in our society, and will eventually need to be dealt with if we are to progress.
1. Religious beliefs that are in contradiction to scientific evidence playing a role in policy and law. 1/3

Today went well. Cooler weather (17°C), and I slept in until 1pm. It was a good reset, I was in a terrible state yesterday. The housemates either were out of the place or out of my way today.

Feeling a lot better today - after working on it. I didn’t sleep much, and woke up early (to hear the clothes dryer go on at 6:41am … and the guy left it and went to work). I was a mess last night, both angry and teary. Tried playing a game.

This photo was taken in a hurry, hoping for at least a minute of peace. The loud and shit music is playing, and a charcoal bbq is happening just out of view. He couldn’t even stay put that long.

Fuck you.
You’re giving a man that is not even a fit parent, who interferes in the politics of other countries, who is openly a bigot … more power.
You’re evil.

Pretty sure someone blocked me for stating exactly the sort of cultural knowledge you would expect me to know if I taught kids for a career, had a good knowledge of Mathematics and Astronomy (e.g. Dates on different calendars) and a relative that married a person of a certain cultural background.

Grocery shopping day, and a lovely 23°C day to be out and about. My bestie knows it’s a challenge for me (we both don’t enjoy crowded areas), and I check-in about how I went.

A post that had been up for a week was wildly racist about Usha Vance.
I can’t stand her husband’s politics, but racism is never justified.
