This is a fantastic idea. Overload the glurge with even more glurge!
Someone should be setting up counter content farm networks that just post inane things like “my grocery list: motor oil and live snakes” or “the best pizza topping is straight pins” and see how loud we can make the AI Summaries and inane ChatGPT requests scream

It’s 3 babies now. In Kentucky. likely more places soon. Whooping cough is a terrible way to go 😭😭 Vaccinate. Your. Kids.
Louisiana Surgeon General Ralph Abraham has just been named as the principal deputy director at the CDC.

Abraham’s accomplishments include banning the health department from promoting vaccines and overseeing the concomitant explosion of whooping cough in the state, which has killed two babies.

I think Demonschool is a good video game but I think Brandon’s approach to how staff worked together and were credited REALLY deserves a lot of attention. Video game crediting is a stupid black box and transparency will help average people understand these roles.
demonschool credits all 145 people who touched the game over the course of its multi-year dev cycle AND explains what exactly they contributed. the rest of the games industry, which commonly omits people from credits entirely, should be taking notes

Libraries are free for you to use, serve the public good, are great, support creators financially and, I cannot be clear enough about this-- ARE FREE FOR YOU TO USE-- so pirating books makes you kind of an asshole, not some Marxist revolutionary.

If the book you want isn't there *request it.*

Highly recommend setting aside some time to read the full investigation into Oregon's AI-fueled toxic drinking water crisis by @rollingstone.com and @thefern.org

Good evening. 🌱 Alstroemeria www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/PlantFinder/... bouquet, week three.

Buying fresh flowers for someone special? Highly recommend these. Just keep snipping the ends, providing fresh water every 5 days and they'll last weeks. They come in a variety of colors.

Making even a pauper’s living as a writer or artist is brutal. AI steals from them. Pirating is rampant. Buy a book. Leave a review. Let them know their work matters to YOU
I try to make a point to mention that when I give talks lately (& mention it in BID). I am not trying to demoralize folks. Just try to reinforce the idea that the structural problems in creative professions are NOT YOUR FAULT. If you have to do something else to pay bills, that is not *your* fault.

This is why we all freak out about theft btw, bc just a few copies can make an actual, real difference. you would be surprised at how few copies someone needs to make it onto a bestseller list
I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.
