My kids have measles and my SNAP benefits were cut. But at least those cashiers at Walmart aren’t writing “they/them” on their name tags anymore.

It really feels like Sam Altman promised a lot of Very Serious Old People he was going to create capitalist blowjob jesus based off a tech demo, and now that the bottom’s falling out he’s throwing whatever he can think of at the wall to avoid getting disappeared because he wasted all their money.

Obviously, this is loser shit, but I think AI has really cemented itself as the visual language of fascism. It's anti-human, flattened, uninteresting, and cheap. It's like looking at a Potemkin Village and thinking that's the same as architecture.

It is not a coincidence that most of the videos you see of ICE agents using excessive force seem to feature unarmed women half their size. 🙃

I went down a rabbit hole today on Thomas Paine, and it's always fascinating digging into the founding father's words/writings that didn't make it into K-12 history books. Not only due to the variety of their ideas, the hypocrisy and errors in their beliefs, but also a lot of them were RADICALS.

ChatGPT is Versailles 2, all the rich guys are all pretending that this stuff is cool or makes them smarter and with each aberration of that lie they thus have to start saying and believing fundamentally insane things, all so that the central financial insanity can be further rationalised
"I’ll go down this thread with GPT or Grok and I’ll start to get to the edge of what’s known in quantum physics and then I’m doing the equivalent of vibe coding, except it’s vibe physics,” said Travis Kalanick, the founder of Uber.

I've been exploring how easy it is for bad actors to use VEO 3 text to video generation to spread disinformation in a crisis. With the Iran war in the news, these kinds of AI videos could potentially fuel a crisis if they were to go viral at the wrong moment.

One of our vendors at work put out a video describing a change in a service, and the entire video was AI voice with a fake "actor" whose lips didn't *quite* sync with the generated audio. It was an uncanny valley horror show, and I want to bill them for making me watch it.
