I like how “America needs to be #1 in AI!”, a dubious goal to begin with, clearly just means “America has to spend the most money on AI”, and this is a position that is being pushed by AI company CEOs to get more money, and somehow it’s considered a position worth arguing and not just a racket.

Battlefield 6 is getting a lot of criticism for being too Call of Duty-ish but honestly I think the new Strikepoint mode is a fantastic take on small-scale battles, even if the game doesn’t have the same massive battles as something like BF1 or 1942.

If you told someone 15 years ago you were into podcasts they’d assume you were talking about independent NPR-style radio journalism. But now it just means 4 hour long talk shows with some of the least informed or curious people you’ve ever met. I think we should just start calling them talk shows.

I’ve been a software developer through a number of tech trends but LLMs are the first time I’ve been told, during the interview process, that if I was hired I would be expected to make a specific tool I find unproductive the core of my personal workflow. Do you want me for my experience or not.

I feel vindicated in my opinion that Gravity is a terrible movie by the fact that they basically remade it in a 9-1-1 four-parter this season, and it was notably outlandish even by Ryan Murphy standards
