Yeah unfortunately being able to immediately get a fix whenever you want isn’t actually a great quitting method, and it doesn’t make real cigs less tempting if you’re hanging out with smokers

I saw Stevie Nicks at the Gorge a few years back and I have never seen a more representative cross section of America at any concert in my life.

I had a really religious friend in high school who claimed he had never masturbated “on purpose” but that as a result he was so sensitive that he could get off just by accidentally touching his dick the right way which seems like it could lead to some very embarrassing accidents.

Everything about this was great, from the mixed metaphor to the implication that after the primary and then general election there was somehow a third round to keep your stamina for.

It’s the same logic behind insisting the aliens must have built the ancient wonders, but applied to much more recent history. I saw people claiming there’s no way we had the technology to build the Empire State Building in the 1930s even though every aspect of its construction is documented history.

I was introduced to it in regards to the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. Which is extra funny because they had to replace pretty much the whole thing with steel-reinforced concrete because the original was made from wood and plaster, and it’s about as convincing as the “ruins” at theme parks.

I spent my 20s hanging out in bars with strangers and I guarantee you that if you start with small talk, within like 15 minutes you will be having an illuminating conversation on something you or they find super interesting - unless they don’t wanna talk, which small talk also tells you.
