I was introduced to it in regards to the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. I spent my 20s hanging out in bars with strangers and I guarantee you that if you start with small talk, within like 15 minutes you will be having an illuminating conversation on something you or they find super interesting - unless they don’t wanna talk, which small talk also tells you.
