The finale of the great TV comedy show Blackadder goes Forth.
Back then I didn't expect one of the funniest programmes ever to end with a scene that makes me cry every time I see it.
Every single time.

I am going to fight the new anti-cycling Dunedin City Council & their desire to send us back to the 1980s tooth & nail.

This is yet another piece of evidence I need to add to the boxes of evidence.
It’s really important that #Vancouver’s Downtown Business Association, who were originally against bike-lanes, are now among their most vigourous supporters, because of ACTUAL EVIDENCE that they’re better for downtown business than any street parking they replaced.

Safe bike-lanes mean business.

Part 1
Apologies for another lengthy post, but I am still reeling from yesterday's decision.

The decision to remove the requirement for school boards to give voice to Te Tiriti is a LOT more than an attack on the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and our commitment to bilingualism.

So let’s get this straight. Lifeline is unfunded by govt & needs $2 million. But govt just hands $24 million to Gumboot Friday and is happy to give millions to the bloody Michelin Guide for tourism puffery of dubious value. Everything this govt does is run on vibes.

Lifeline Aotearoa says it has had to stop services between midnight and 7am since March, and without sustainable funding, it cannot continue a full 24/7 service.
