Even if you have no idea what this is or who these people are, even if you're not that into magic, bookmark and watch this masterpiece of oration and showmanship
Here is a Christmas gift months in the making: an RF rip of the greatest magic special in history. Ricky Jay and His 52 Assistants, directed by David Mamet, never released on home video, sourced from an internal HBO Production tape sourced by @pulsingcinema.bsky.social: archive.org/details/rick...

A few weeks ago I was talking politics with a local, highly straight, bartender.

All the sudden he said: “Well, I think a big part of the problem is that so many of the people who would’ve been our progressive leaders died of AIDS & can’t help us now.”

And I’ve thought about that every day since.

Im trying to find more information about P.E.C. (Publisher’s Export Co.). It was a 60s/70s San Diego smut publisher founded by Donald Patrick but I’m really stuck trying to find out anything about him or the company. I know lots of you have P.E.C.s in your collections but does anyone know more?

This is why I am so vehemently down on people scaremongering the trans community. The assault on the trans community is one on our dignity, trying to drive us to suicide. Scaremongering does their work for them.

Repeat after me: I am too punk to kill myself when my government wants me to.
In the case of trans people, I think most of this Administration would be plenty happy if they drove us to suicide or to voluntarily detransition. They're lazy, they're focused on optics and le epic owns, and even where they are marshalling state capacity (ICE, et al) they're at a breaking point.

Sometimes they just say the part they’re not supposed to say out loud.

I guess why not though?

I think one great service Trump will do for America is dismantle the very widely held belief that rich people are rich because they have some special capacity.

They had at least a well off dad and happened to have something that had been worthless but people suddenly wanted in a hurry.
Something that’s so striking in these emails is how…unimpressive Epstein is. He comes off as a pompous, sub-literate lech. Yes everyone is so mortifyingly solicitous of him! All fawning and flattery! Why?????

I swear. I don’t care if you watch or use porn. If you are in the Internet you need to support porn. Without porn most of the Internet you love wouldn’t have happened and wouldn’t be happening. Porn makes the wheels go round. Not that enough ppl pay for theirs but that’s a diff issue. (Cont)

Get in, losers, we’re going to the Cambrian Explosion.
ZOMG LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE SHALE

Okay, so the Burgess Shale is a fossil bed in British Columbia that contains a whole bunch of fossils of weirdass creatures from the Cambrian era, over 500 million years ago. But the great thing about the shale is that it has fossilized SOFT PARTS!

This is true! "Diot" was a diminutive of "Dionisia" (a forerunner of "Denise"), and "Coke" was a variant of "Cook," so a modern version of "Diot Coke" might be "Niecy Nosh."
I’m sorry I just found out that in 1379, as in, 650 years ago, a baby girl was born in Yorkshire and named Diot Coke

history is a fucking joke lmao

Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

With all these crooks lining up to smear ibuprofen and acetaminophen, I can only assume that they have all invested in some new miracle painkiller that will be approved any day now.

So when the new miracle painkiller is announced, uh, don't take it.
JD Vance calls ibuprofen "useless medication" and implies it's not "necessary, safe and effective."
