A glaring omission from my 2025 reading list is a book I’m currently reading - Alien: The Cold Forge by @alexwhite.bsky.social.

After being told it was “arguably the best-written Alien novel. Makes corporate evil scarier than the Xenomorph itself,” it became a must read.

It delivers.

Like, I want to add up the total cost of life hours that everyone has lost to this message, because I think it has collectively killed several hundred people (just spread out over a population).
I KNOW I should go to an emergency room or call 911 in a medical emergency. I have lost years of my life to this part of your answering machine.

Cached US #KindleBookGiveaway: 10 copies A Big Ship at the Edge of the Universe (The Salvagers Book 1)

Bluesky is always like, "Here's a reskeet reply to someone you blocked," and I always want to know who it was, because I readily throw so many into the block fires. I want blocking to work like adult content where I can hit "show" and be like, "Ohhhh yeah I remember hating that fucker."

The most impressive thing about Bari is her ability to violate ethical principles while indignantly claiming to defend them.
Weiss concluded: “We need to be able to make every effort to get the principals on the record and on camera. To me, our viewers come first, not a listing schedule or anything else. And that is my North Star, and I hope it's the North Star of every person in this newsroom.”

Happy Winter Solstice!

Beer can, pinhole camera photos of the Summer to Winter Solstice (2024) and the Winter to Summer Solstice (2025).

You never know quite what you're going to get with these photos, set the beer can pointing towards the sun at hopefully the correct angle and wait 6 months!

While Amazon is investing billions of dollars to expand AI, independent bookstores are hosting community events, personally recommending books to readers, and providing a space that is safe and welcoming during a time when we need them most.

Never underestimate the power of a local bookstore.

This is the same as winning an award, right?
I met one of our IP producers at a thing yesterday and he thanked me for our work, congratulated us on the nom, and said we did such a good job on the story and asked what we were gonna do next and looked so deflated when I had to tell him about the layoffs
