Funny how we all just “have to” accept AI as progress even if it’s janky and either has demonstrated no improvements to productivity or outright tanks it, but we never had to accept remote work despite every study showing it improves productivity AND workers lives.

Hmmmmm

I want more Totoros. The number of neighbors can stay the same.

(Obviously I have a strong opinion here.)

From the incubation side, the liquid solves a lot of problems. Why aren't you bleeding? Why can't you feel a baseball-sized object in your chest? Because it was assembled from your own tissues. Also scary, because a chestburster embryo can be removed, but an infection will keep coming back.

darn about an embryonic creature that can't be harnessed? That's not a breakthrough that can create immortality--it's a liability that can't be controlled. It doesn't even make a good weapon, since it can be shot/nuked/etc. It has the problem solving skills of a dog at best, so why risk it?

the embryo is similar to the egg of the tarantula hawk, but the tarantula dies as soon as the eggs hatch into wriggling creatures. They don't live inside the spider, but on its paralyzed body, and the hatching time is the reason the spider must be preserved. More importantly... who gives a

or even conjure immortality. The embryo, by contrast, is just some animal that eats everything. If that's the case, why don't the victims die of internal bleeding long before hatching? Why does the host need to remain alive at all when a dead body provides as much food as a live one? I realize that

medical reason to study the Xenomorph. With P. praepotens, it's not a simple creature, it's a genetic recoding/zippering mechanism faster than CRISPR. Unlike an embryo, such an organism could potentially be reprogrammed like a retrovirus to cure serious chronic disorders, perform surgeries,

Very different. I was attempting to do 4 things with P. praepotens. 1) Reconcile the new lore of Prometheus and Covenant with the fandom. 2) Explain away the sudden accumulation of biomass of the chestburster. 3) Provide a reason why no one feels the embryo moving early on. 4) Create a compelling
