Weird, my matcha was supposed to get here today but I guess it saw Seattle and decided to bail.

Me, all day to my gen Z coworker: Have you ever seen the movie (insert movie title here)?
Gen Z coworker: No.
Me: *proceeds to give detailed summary of the movie as well as my personal thoughts*
Gen Z coworker: Sounds cool, I'll check it out (never checks it out)

You know, people always like to tell me I look like I'm still in my 20s (I don't) but I think saying things like "What kind of soup would you like to have at a party?" clear up any confusion.

Really not loving this trend of books set in the 1990s described as "historical fiction." That was literally only 10 years ago.

I am more likely to place faith in an academic's teachings if they have a really fucked-up hairstyle. To me, that says you're so invested in your subject, you don't even have time for personal grooming.

I really feel like the midcentury medieval vibes of the next Perils & Princesses adventure are locked in. Just a delightful twist on a high fantasy TTRPG adventure. www.kickstarter.com/projects/out...

Left-handed people live in a perpetual twilight of incompetence because when you actually hand us something designed for us, we can’t work it, because we’ve spent decades perfecting our bizarre patchwork method of using right-handed devices.

As we mourn Rob Reiner, don’t skip this: he was, pretty much, personally responsible for overturning California’s Prop 8 banning same sex marriage.

This entire grift relies on convincing people that they don't know how to do the things they have always known how to do, and ironically, if it works, we will, in a very short amount of time, forget how to do all the things we have always known how to do.

It is an absolutely delightful irony that the richest man in the world is universally acknowledged to be a huge fucking loser who not a single living person envies in any way at all
Remember folks: if you have any small amount of artistic talent, any sex appeal, or can make your friends laugh, the richest man on earth is crying screaming throwing up because he can’t be you.

There was a lot of this when that movie came out. The one I heard most was “would sleep with Redford for a million dollars” and the answer was “if I had the money, yes”
I read someplace that when INDECENT PROPOSAL came out a TV reporter, outraged at the concept, did some vox pops outside the theater, asking a woman "Would you sleep with Robert Redford for a million dollars?!" Only the woman without hesitation replied "I'd sleep with Robert Redford for fifty cents."

My #1 favorite episode. 💔
Robert Redford playing a gentle incarnation of death, coming for a frightened old woman in The Twilight Zone episode "Nothing in the Dark" (1962). An extraordinary performance then, terribly bittersweet today

This is such a funny element to the Kirk eulogizing: they can’t describe him the way they’re describing him *and* show clips of anything he actually said or did
I haven’t seen one news channel show a clip of him speaking in the last 4 hours
