Been on a fantasy spree for YEARS now. Apart from Maria Just Maria and a few other books, I have not read anything non-fantasy in a while. The last one I read was Broken Empire trilogy. Anyone has recommendations that are similar ?

(First Law, Malazan etc have been devoured already)

What a bunch of royal butt lickers. Truly, an English moment.

EU isn't cleaning up anything. I've seen variants of this type of events unfold in India, and it is no different here. People are fired etc, but their access to power and money remain unchanged. What sort of cleaning up is that ? Nobody is in jail. Nobody has their money taken away do they?

Every time survivors of Sexual abuse strive for justice, I am reminded of Phoolan Devi. You should read about the Bandit Queen of India. She shot her abusers dead. One villager also noted there was once she heard of a pedophile & a rapist, as local justice, she ordered her men to castrate him.

You ask what art does in politics ? It fucking gives shapes to ideas so they can be spread, understood, believed in and remain as artifacts that serve as reminders.

This applies as much to the Indians as it does to others. It does.
