The perfect place to have a singing road around Pune is the northbound exit to the Katraj tunnel that is super accident-prone because people speed there

Just set up rumbler strips that play 'Zingaat' if you driver over them at 40kmph and accidents will go way down

We went to an Egyptian cafe where I found out she does not like mint tea. Then she asked me if Romania was a Balkan country (it was relevant to something she was dealing with at work at the time) and had to listen to me expound on the topic for 15 minutes
This is an unapologetically sappy feel-good subject (at least, I guess, for people in a happy relationship”). So, to prepare for Valentine’s Day, what did you and your partner do for a first date?

My wife and I went to tea at Huntington Gardens and walked around.
On our first date, my spouse and I spent like an hour talking about footnotes.

also, he's the GOP nominee in 2004 to succeed Ryan and gets killed by a Klansman a month before the election, which somehow makes Not!TedKennedy win by default (not how the electoral college works)

Just found out that the Pune Metro Line 3 is going to have third rails with 750V DC power, while Lines 1 & 2 (run by a different company for some stupid reason) have 25kV AC power on overhead lines. It's like the numbnuts who run the two companies are deliberately trying to stymie interoperability

This is literally true

Hans-Adam I von Liechtenstein bought the County of Vaduz and the Lordship of Schellenberg. His son then got the HRE to unite them into a Principality that was named after the family

The actual place where the Liechtenstein family gets it's name is near Vienna
Remember, Lichtenstein is actually the name of the scientist who created the country.

In 2020, we had a lot of conversations about harassment at SF/F conventions, and Isaac Asimov came up several times.
the Epstein files are really devastating because they remind me of how many girls and women miss out on professional opportunities, mentorship and careers because of how many powerful, rich and influential men only view girls and women — and interactions with them — through the lens of sex
