Good news
"'What’s more, the decline in the president’s overall approval is particularly steep among the infrequent voter blocs that made up his 2024 coalition and who will be key to the GOP’s midterm hopes — young people, Latinos, and independents,' writes Carrie Dann, CPR Managing Editor."

Help me understand why, if there’s proof of him raping and harming children in the files, why hasn’t he been arrested? Because the files haven’t been released? Because he’s president (sic)? Isn’t the crime bigger than that? Help me understand.

Are we not stunned by how many men—my god, how many!—eagerly abused, brutalized, raped young girls?

Some of us are less stunned than others.
I’m baffled by how many stayed quiet for so long.
Perverted libidos satisfied; untroubled consciences.

This story illuminates our cultural man-sickness.

The way to understand this stuff is that centrism is not a governing philosophy. It is merely an electoral strategy without principles or programmatic solutions of any kind. It’s the embodiment of “I want to be elected because I want to be elected, not because I want to do anything, god forbid”
Like this. "You must strategically abandon the specific issues that the right has rendered toxic & focus on others."

But then ... why wouldn't the right just be able to do the same thing on those other issues?

Gorgeous! A gifted artist.
Remarkable details of birds, flowers & insects from the border of this 2nd century Roman floor mosaic in Antioch (present-day Turkey), which depicts Ganymede offering a drink to Zeus (in the form of a cranky eagle). Signed by artist Neikias

Yes, on the second-to-last page of chapter 32, Huck’s uncle, Silas Phelps, appears to be sporting an erection, and pointing it at the teenage boy’s head. Admittedly, it’s not by any reckoning large, and not terribly clear, but in a highly puritanical country, it had to be... er, pulled

The SAVE act is just the last step to enable this Fascist regime to ensure there is never a free and fair election ever again. It would allow the Executive Branch to determine the outcome of all future elections.

Consider “Dear Benjamin,”

“That graceful comma gives us pause to build our anticipation or steel ourselves in preparation.

It may tempt us…or it may attempt to hold us back, to warn us…
A comma used thus implies the letter was written with care, with a sensitivity towards its awaiting audience.”
"If nothing else, one ought to know how to treat a comma. Abandonment or abuse of the comma muddles discourse, and this lack of respect is akin to neglect, to a lack of appreciation, to an unreasonable rejection of the very foundation of all worthy human interactions."

I watched a few videos of this craft. it’s astonishing, and beautiful… and sadly a dying art.
Hiki-baku is a breathtaking Japanese weaving technique that turns mother-of-pearl shells into luminous fabric. Artisans slice the shells into strands as thin as 0.6 mm and weave them by hand. The iridescent glow shifts with even the tiniest movement.

Abu Fanous “is a mysterious light phenomenon…in the Arabian desert…
It appears as an orb or light that moves unpredictably, then vanishes…

In local Arabic folklore, Abu Fanous is described as a jinn [genie] that lures people into the desert & then disappears, leaving travellers to get lost & die“

If I’m a European nation, I’m looking at a world without American mastery, or leadership, or meaningfulness, or relevance.
“.. the attempt to link most of the world's largest non-U.S., non-China economies into a single economic bloc is perhaps the most significant sign that the rest of the world is preparing for a future where America is no longer pushing for open markets and free trade.”

Measles is one of the most contagious diseases on earth.

It was eradicated in the U.S. in 2000, but as anti-vaxxers grew in numbers, the population became vulnerable again— & measles returned.

Only MAGAts are stupid enough to reject vaccinations. Medieval death appeals to them.
