I was surprised and mildly disdainful when I first saw Chair Force ROTC cadets at NAU walking around campus in flight suits. When I was Navy Aircrew, we weren't allowed to wear our flight suits off-base. Skipper said, "you wouldn't wander around town in your pajamas, either."

Yeah, it’s more noticeable if you watch videos they filmed across several weeks all in a row like I did. The “wow, this is SO HOT” just got louder and louder in this visibly performative way.

I think many are disdainful of the idea that politicians are going to place political expediency over highlighting fellow citizens' rights being violated in such an extreme manner.

I wished for that yesterday, and was told that at best it would result in a felony and at worst someone getting shot. So instead I think that our "supersoakers" should be our disdainful expressions and our "water balloons" can be our devastating insults.

I’m not at all discounting the obvious…but it’s not clear to me that “disdainful reply count” is a negative metric. Exposure beyond your own echo chamber seems good? You’d need more metrics than Bluesky exposes for a meaningful analysis.

I was in France in November 2024 and I had a taxi driver who was noticeably disdainful when I told him I didn’t like Trump. He went on and on about how Trump was going to prevent WWIII. Never underestimate dumbassery abroad as well
