I live near the bottom of a "hill". 2 streets converge at the top in an L-shaped intersection. Once, a truck sped up it and went airborne over *multiple* homes, crashing sideways mere feet away from people on a patio on the other side of the hill, and the driver hopped out and escaped on foot.

A lot of people are mad at Schumer for saying this. But he's right. Democrats don't control a single branch of government and they can't pass anything. Only Republicans can rein in Trump because they control both chambers of Congress. Democrats have no cards to play here.
Schumer: "Republicans must -- if there was ever a time, they must step up to the plate. This is the time. And if they don't, they're gonna feel the heat from their constituents."

The "left" is always not big enough for liberals to appeal to in elections and simultaneously so big they make Democrats lose elections.
Because a) the social-left isn't a large/reliable enough constituency for your "blame" to impact their voting behavior so you do nothing but demotivate their electorate & b) that weakens them in the fight against Trump's fascism in general, including the problems with ICE which should be #1 concern.
