My occasional post for people who have followed me for printmaking (thank you!), explaining that most of the grown-up printmaking stuff happens over on my Substack, which is completely free by the way.

Starting the day over on Instagram blocking a couple of chaps who turned up in a female stand-up's replies, agreeing with each other that 'women aren't funny'. I rarely block on Instagram as my account there is essentially for business, but I'm happy to make exceptions.

Reading this from @mikeachim.bsky.social has left me with a strange urge to either put the heating on or go back to bed, or both. But don't let that put you off; I heartily recommend reading it, if only so you can count your blessings afterwards.

The 1980s have just dropped through my letterbox in the shape of an Avon catalogue which the note says will be collected on Saturday. I have just cried at the John Lewis ad. I'm pretty sure I'm not pregnant and I've had my flu and covid jabs. I must just be tired.

Saw an American post about how the pandemic 'brought out the worst in people'. This apparent difference in national experience really took me aback, and I've probably been overthinking it, but is there something in the cultural memory of Blitz Spirit affecting how people responded here? 🤷♀️

Had a conversation about Claudia Winkleman's hair with my hairdresser this afternoon. She tells me industry knowledge is that that amazing gloss is the result of an arsenal of very expensive products, and not just Head & Shoulders after all. Who'd have thought it??

The first layer of a new reduction print always looks a bit rubbish. At least mine do. I have to keep the faith...

Brave writing from Tim.
I am increasingly finding the printing bit of my work (as opposed to the drawing or carving), which involves standing for a couple of hours at a time, is giving me lower back pain. I might have to develop a printmaking method you can do lying down.

What a difference is made by the prize pot going to charity. It makes the non-celeb version look quite nasty really. #CelebrityTraitors

I recall after my father's stroke one piece of advice from the carers was to label the doors to all the rooms.

If I'm honest, I have done very little my way.
I have to admit that, much as I’d like to be, I’m not still standing.
I'm sorry to say that, contrary to my belief, I cannot fly.

Here in Yorkshire we of course use rhubarb, hence 'barb-tats', as famously referenced in the traditional song "On Ilkley Moor".
Repost with where you're from and what you call leek-hats.
Interesting. Over here we call it hat-leeks.
