To be clear, militant Islamist groups are a problem in Nigeria. BUT their primary targets by far are fellow Muslims, not Christians. The US targeting them on some supposed mission to defend Christians will almost certainly feed the rhetoric that gains the groups support & make things worse.

I finally had a chance to watch the spiked 60 Minutes CECOT video, and I can completely understand why the Trump administration would seek to suppress it. It documents clear violations of US and international law.

The Biden DOJ had a perfectly legal avenue to release this to the public—a response to a FOIA request. They may have even been legally obligated to produce it in response to the FOIA request. And they decided not to, to protect Donald Trump’s reputation? What?

Coming from the High Plains, where you can drive for ten hours and still be in Kansas, it amazes me that ten hours of driving to family along the East Coast for Christmas takes us across eight states.

My Great Aunt Edith worked in a settlement house in Chicago, where she taught music lessons, mostly to poor recent immigrants. I inherited her piano books, including several collections of Christmas carols from the early 1930s.

Interesting thread. The irony is that few of those talking about “heritage Americans” actually trace their roots back to the early 1600s. What they really mean is “white,” preferably Northern European, even if recent arrivals, like Trump’s Scottish mother and German grandfather.
