POST-ELECTION ECONOMIC NEWS:

ADP's latest private-sector jobs report was released this morning, and the numbers help explain why voters are so worried about the economy and why they went so heavily Democratic last night.

Job growth has collapsed under Trump's tariffs.

But what if it was even worse than that?

Murphy: "It's clearly the biggest scandal in presidential history. He wouldn't be acting this way if he wasn't so deeply worried about what's in those files. What we've already seen is immensely incriminating. Clearly Trump was at the center of a child sex ring ... the scandal could bring him down."

Sharp point from @brianbeutler.bsky.social: The fact that as many as 50 Republicans are expected to vote for release of the Epstein files shows attacking Trump's corruption and depravity actually can divide GOP, so not *everything* has to be "affordability."

Seems like Glenn Youngkin should probably be made to waste his retirement years being hauled in front of a committee and humiliated for his role in all this. Absolute snake of a human being, who degraded his state's higher ed institutions to appease a loser who hates him, to no productive end for VA
Former UVA president Jim Ryan, who resigned over the summer due to pressure from the Trump Administration, just shared this 12-page letter with the Faculty Senate, detailing his experience with the Board of Visitors and DOJ.

It's a surreal--and troubling--read.

Every piece of data that comes out shows Trump’s policies are hurting our economy and killing jobs. With him in charge, Americans are paying more, losing health care, and getting laid off. That’s his legacy.

"don't worry, he's just into 15-year-olds" perhaps not as exculpatory as you think
Also 15-year-olds are not "barely legal." They are minors.
Megyn Kelly: "I know somebody very close to this case…Jeffrey Epstein, in this person's view, was not a pedophile…He was into the barely legal type, like he liked 15 year old girls…He wasn't into like 8 year olds…There's a difference between a 15 year old and a 5 year old."

In a healthy White House, it would be disqualifying for a radical official to acknowledge his “Nazi streak.”

In this White House, Trump personally rewarded Paul Ingrassia with a promotion. www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddo...
Despite ‘Nazi streak’ controversy, Ingrassia lands a news gig in the Trump administration
Paul Ingrassia's history of radicalism made him politically radioactive. The president rewarded him with a promotion anyway.

Note: A lot of people keep asking why the docs released the other day weren't released under Biden.

The short answer is 1) alleged ongoing investigation/prosecution, 2) scope 3) Privacy Act and 4) CVRA, which mandates that victims hear from DOJ.

It matters that DOJ is ignoring the latter.
“So you’ve heard nothing from this administration as this has been playing out?”

In this discussion, @repyassansari.bsky.social is so good all throughout. She talks about what it's like to meet with Epstein's victims, why Trump is so desperate to prevent Republicans from breaking, what Dems will do to prevent the story from dying, and more. Listen in the link below:
Good to see: @repyassansari.bsky.social tells me she expects 50 Republicans to vote to release Epstein files (agreeing w/MTG). Dems also want to bring in heads of financial institutions on Epstein transactions.

"Every time I have been on major network channels to talk about this, they’re very quick to say, 'Trump has not been implicated.' Well, there are emails now that say Trump spent hours with victims and knew what was going on."

Dems should do more mockery of networks for their Epstein disclaimers:
Trump is demanding that GOP side with him over Epstein's victims, Rep Ansari tells me. She had a harrowing exchange with one victim who recounts how her mom had cancer and he exploited that.

Also note her mockery of network disclaimers on Trump. More like this, Ds:
