So, the results of Tuesday’s elections are fake, but “if you keep voting this way you might not be voting much longer.”

I am not regretting my life choices at the moment.

The swinging trapeze was especially cool.

One of the perks of being married to someone in the arts is that you get tickets to cool performances. We had a great family outing to the Big Apple Circus. The trapeze, aerial, and gymnasts were amazing. So fun!

They go between playing videos and talking to the crowd. Great entertainment for all the kids.

Props to the neighbor who goes all out for Halloween.

Today’s @bostonglobe.com cartoon is right on target. Trump destroys things, then “negotiates” a deal where the end result is worse than what we started with, but most media dutifully report uncritically on his great success.

This gives me more hope than almost anything I’ve read lately. A 13% drop in support among a core MAGA group is significant. It suggests the documentation of ICE raids, Trump’s blatant abuse of power, and the protests against it are having an impact.

So, I’m newish to being a dog owner. How do you convince your dog that it’s okay to be a little sad sometimes? I mean, the cats totally get it. But the dog wants me to be constantly in a good mood, and that’s just not me.

Having conservative friends on facebook helps keep me appraised of what Red America thinks. Apparently the MAGAworld talking point is that Trump’s demolition of the East Wing is comparable to renovations under Obama.

Seeing how my conservative Facebook friends reacted to the No Kings protests shows the protests got under more than just Trump’s skin. One guy must have posted five times insisting Trump’s actions are no different than Biden under Covid.

Who knew Antifa was a senior citizens organization?

I was not the only person who rode his bike to the rally. The bike parking made Boston look like Amsterdam.

Mayor Michelle Wu @wutrain.bsky.social was fantastic as always. My favorite line: Trump and his cabinet “mistake cruelty for greatness and chaos for power.”

Some images from No Kings Boston and a few observations:
•LOTS of senior citizens and families with kids.
•LOTS of flags (which strikes me as smart given the fascist attempt to label the rally as anti-American)
•Lots of fun costumes
•And LOTS and LOTS of people. Huge crowd!!

Big crowd at Boston #NoKings rally!

I need clever poster ideas for tomorrow’s #NoKings march. (Keep in mind that I have no artistic ability at all)!
Here are a few of my favorites from previous marches:

The irony of the Trump administration charging someone with mishandling classified information is almost too much to bear.

Is it just me, or does that signature look just like the one on the Epstein birthday drawing?

It’s amazing how consistently right wingers are both oblivious to and incapable of understanding irony.

The boy detained by ICE and sent hundreds of miles from his family is a 13-year-old 7th grader. As the father of a 7th-grader, I can’t imagine the pain. His family is applying for asylum and have work permits, meaning they’re following the rules. This is inexcusable.

The cats requested that we turn on the heat.

They weren’t fooling around when they closed 2 of the Starbucks on campus last week. Name gone, papered over windows. The company must be struggling if they can’t sell coffee on a college campus.
Of course there are still at least 3 left on campus…

Question: Why do pollsters screen for registered voters/likely voters on polls that have nothing to do with an election? If you notice, the polls that include all adults (A) have significantly lower approval ratings for Trump. How do other pollsters justify excluding the opinion of non-voters?

It was bicycle rush hour in Boston this morning!
