At this stage, it would be entirely reasonable for Starmer's political opponents to call him "soft on producers of child pornography" and yet because the Tories and Reform are also so desperate for Musk's and Trump's approval, they too will keep their heads down.

Hard to believe that the government, led by a former DPP, doesn’t know this. Which would mean, if James is right, that the UK government is turning a blind eye to the production of child porn rather than risk upsetting Musk and the US government. And that would be an extraordinary scandal.

Another window another £60m plus signing and another attacking midfielders for Man City. How many players have they been able to sign to secure their future and without a care whilst waiting for the outcome of the charges. Charges that go to the core of how they can act as a club now. Its all a sham

As everyone talks about Greenland, don't forget its actual global significance--a two mile thick sheet of ice that if melted would raise the sea level 23 feet (and long before that choke off the currents of the Atlantic)

Absolutely insane that this is still going. At least it’s finally an idiotic and manipulative far right psycho freakout that I actively want the public to pay attention to, and to really appreciate how deranged and insulting it is.

Just learning from @supertanskiiii.bsky.social (on Insta) about the scale of image based abuse taking place on X.com (and elsewhere). We have been working with a leading specialist org to bring legal action for victims. But I also want all men who care about women to call this out as unacceptable.

Let's be clear: it is not for Elon Musk to "urgently deal" with his business's production of child pornography, it's for the Home Secretary to urgently call the Commissioner of the Met and ask when we can expect to see senior Twitter execs being arrested and brought in for questioning.

It is incomprehensible. It is exasperating. It's a win-win-win situation. Do the right thing. Protect the vulnerable. Tell Musk to fuck off with the support of 99% of the British population. Give Farage and Badenoch a rope to hang themselves with if they try to defend "free speech".

The most extraordinary thing about the government's ongoing inaction over Twitter is its apparent belief that reining it in might be controversial or unpopular.
How do they not see that it’s a win for them? Most Britons hate Musk, hate Trump, (hopefully) hate child porn. Hate the far right.

It’s both their moral duty and a vote winner. They are so dumb it hurts.

Day 58 for Kamran Ahmed.

They are now at imminent risk of death and this Labour government remains spineless and cowardly — refusing even to meet their lawyers while lives hang in the balance.

Many of those who complain about mining for batteries / solar / wind power have curiously never raised a squeak about the far greater extraction required for fossil energy. Funny how they become concerned about the planet only when fossil fuel interests are threatened.

So far in 1066:

• Edward the Confessor has died.
• Harold Godwineson has been named king instead of Edgar Ætheling.
• Edward has been buried.
• Harold has been crowned.

It's still only 6 January.
