#Sneetches
There are minor conversations that might be fun to have in person- like, what constitutes ‘most’ and when is it the clearest term to use. On here those conversations are absolute torture.

We don’t have to split in two fiercely defended positions on every issue like fucking sneetches

The Sneetches (1961) is making students hate reading!
Meanwhile, on threads, which actually is like what people on twitter think bluesky is like, a "teacher, author, poet" speaks...

If you think that time I crashed out here over The Sneetches tv show was bad.
That's NOTHING compared to my 14 year long temper tantrum over how viscerally upset The Lorax movie makes me.
I know there's a lot of love and nostalgia for it... you are wrong.
It is not just awful, it was bad for society
fun question: what’s the maddest you’ve ever been leaving a movie theater? not necessarily worst movie you’ve seen, but the one that just pissed you off the most. mine is Batman v Superman

I’m so sick of “unrest in the Middle East”🙄

They’ve been acting out Dr Seuss’ Starbellied Sneetches story without EVER getting to the moral of the story.

This is Nazi talk. There’s also a children’s book about the Sneetches he may have missed reading as a child.

'We're all just the same now, you see? We've proved that Sneetches can be happy, like we.'

DEI is the Golden Rule, for the dumb folks.

It literally just means do unto others in the form of don't be Star Bellied Sneetches.

JFK's walk softly motto is the logical extension, why in part beloved by all. If you would kill us slow, well, then you have defined yourself.

Big stick time, now.

His work is soooooo cool. A million years ago, I got to see some of his paintings on black velvet. Very psychedelic stuff, like sneetches in an MC Escher style

Bigotry understood along the lines of the star-bellied sneetches or that one Star Trek episode. Irrational, yes, but they’ve never had the full malevolence and violence of a bigoted social order turned against them. This is true even of the Yarvins of the world who think it’d be fun to lead

Great now we have a Sneetches situation where we won't know at any given moment whether publicly demarcated anti-semitism is defined by presence or absence of the star

So you don’t know who’s who. That is perfectly true.
But come with me, friends. Do you know what I’ll do?
I’ll make you, again, the best Sneetches on beaches
And all it will cost you is ten dollars eaches.”

Racism is bad or only through destroying civilization will there ever be equality. Take your pick.

I fully agree with your #1. The Sneetches is one of my favorite Seuss books with a message. The Lorax and The Butter Battle Book are up there, too.
For all my reading I only recognized half your list, so I'll have to check out the rest!
