Their leadership isn't always great, and it is a spin-off of Fedora, which is hugely betting on "AI", so I don't know how viable it will be long term, but I have had no issues with it for the 2 years I have been using it on my laptop, despite my laptop being a somewhat slow refurb.

I love the refurb program. On my last mac purchase I had a WILD experience with what ended up being a bad chip but erratic enough that it made it past qc. I was getting kernel panics every hour or so in class. Had to take it back and just get a shelf model.

My Apple equipment is now so old, it no longer has a modern update. I can't even get GarageBand to work, and my iPad is literally 2nd Generation, nearly pristine but no longer able to be updated, more and more apps unusable. Got an old refurb iPad on the way, and excited to see what it can do.

I'm just happy that I'm apparently smart enough to do the controller refurb. The internal design of the controller is pretty good for the most part. Except that stupid capacitor between the analog stick well and its connector. That part fuckin' sucks.

Anyway, I think I'll just spring for a 3rd party power supply and if that doesn't work I'm just gonna say, "fuck it" and tell my Cousin that if the power supply causes issues then she should probably send it to a serious refurb outfit for some extensive love and care I cannot provide.

Yes. Good luck trying to get any sleep. The only times I've been on it it was freezing cold and started grinding and shunting very noisily in the middle of the night. Absolutely grim. That was before the refurb and £6 million pound price increases though so maybe it's like sleeping on a cloud now.

after having this iphone 15 pro (refurb) for a month: liquid glass is a mess but nothing is nearly as bad as how you cannot turn off the parallax sheen on home screen icons without turning off all kinetic animations for switching between apps
