A seagull called a Ringed-bill for the dark ring on its upper and lower beak has its wings spread in an upward V and legs extended for landing. The gull’s yellow eyes can be seen. The setting is a small neighborhood lake. Early in the morning they fly circling the lake, and one at a time they skim the water with their paddles and land on the lake’s edge lining up to judge each other’s approach.
